The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is officially returning to Disney Plus for a second season, along with an impressive list of upcoming new guest stars. The revival of the 2000s Disney Channel cartoon made its debut on the streaming platform back in February, picking right up where the original series left off as if no time had passed - let alone nearly two decades.

Many members of the original voice cast reprised their iconic roles for the revival, most notably Kyla Pratt as the 14-year-old beloved heroine, Penny Proud. To mark and celebrate the season finale approaching on April 20th, Disney Plus has announced that the series will in fact be getting a second season, to many fans' excitement.

Disney announced that the second season of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is currently in production. Yet, there is still no release date in sight. Prominent voice actors from the first season will also be returning for the second, such as original stars Pratt and Tommy Davidson. Although The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder does, in many ways, pay homage to the original series, it still has added fresh energy to the mix with the help of newcomers Keke Palmer, Billy Porter, and Zachary Quinto.

Season 1 did come with a pretty outstanding lineup of guest stars, which is quite hard for them to top for season 2. Nonetheless, it seems as though the series reboot is making the impossible possible. The second season of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is set to feature guest appearances from Chance the Rapper, Gabrielle Union, Normani, Leslie Odom Jr., and Gabby Douglas. Those are just the names that have been revealed so far, who knows what other stars will also be dropping in for the second season as well.

Helming the creative world of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is returning original show creator, Bruce W. Smith, who is accompanied by executive producer Ralph Farquhar, co-executive producer/story editor Calvin Brown Jr., producer Jan Hirota, and art director Eastwood Wong. In the director’s chair for the series are Latoya Raveneau, Rudi Bloss, and Tara Nicole Whitaker.

With The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder season 2 officially on its way, fans can rest easy knowing they will still have more access to the childhood sanctuary that Penny, her friends, and family provide for viewers. It’s comforting for many viewers to get to re-explore and revisit some of their favourite cartoon characters from their childhood. However, the reboot also reminds fans just how entertaining it is to see what shenanigans Penny and her loved ones are into continuously. Also, due to the fact that the reboot picks up at the same age and point in Penny’s life as the original series, fans haven’t really gotten to witness her full transformation or growth over time as she matures. Hopefully, season 2 will feature a more different, dynamic side of Penny as she continues to blossom and grow up.
