It doesn't need to be Halloween to play a fun, spooky game with friends. Propnight delivers on both the laughs and the scares, and has been incredibly popular among fans of horror who have been itching for a multiplayer game. Propnight replicates the perfect horror film, allowing players to experience both the fear of being the prey (the role of the survivors), and the power-drunk tyranny of the terrifying antagonist (the role of the killer).

In the attempt to run and hide from the killer while replicating sneaky props within the environment, the players must try their best to repair the Propmachines in the area to successfully escape the killer's grip. However, in some cases, there isn't a friend to help out, it's too late to turn into a nearby bucket or plushie, and taking damage isn't a great option. In times of desperation, players in the role of survivors can try their luck and attempt to stun the killer.

When & Why Should Players Use Stuns?

While stunning is an option in Propnight, it's often only used as a desperate last resort. A stun doesn't last long, and usually only allows the player to survive for a mere few seconds longer. Nonetheless, knowing each method of landing a stun on the killer is imperative to know to truly master the game and make it out of those sticky situations. While stuns are risky overall, they still have the possibility to come in for that clutch escape that wins the game.

Close The Door On The Killer

Propnight Door Stun

The doors in this game aren't just another simple part of the overall environment; they can be used offensively too. In the event of a chase, survivors can head for the closest door in order to gain a small window to get away. After going through a doorway, the survivor can then attempt to close the door on the killer when they are close by.

Getting the timing on this stun isn't much of a concern, as the stun hitbox activates on both sides of the door when closed. However, survivors must also pay attention to each doorway. Killers can break doors down, thus leaving survivors with nothing to use for a stun. Survivors can prevent this by leaving doors open (even after using them for a stun), since the killer can only attack and break closed doors.

Doors can survive about two stuns or two hits from the killer before breaking, so beware of overusing them during each chase. Similar to the use of doors, wooden pallets can also be used on a killer in order to land a clean stun.

Jump On Top Of The Killer's Head

When in a panic and trying to get away from the killer, survivors also have the option of trying to jump on top of the killer's head in an attempt to land a stun while disguised as a prop. This particular means of stunning the killer is one of the most risky ways of getting that short moment to make a clean getaway.

Landing a perfect "bop" on top of the killer's head can be very tricky. For a better chance at getting a stun this way, make sure to use/replicate a larger object, as they are usually more successful than smaller props. However, that doesn't mean that landing a stun with smaller objects is impossible. Perhaps that last resort rubber chicken stun might end up saving a life!

Use The Camera Flash

Propnight Camera Stun

The last method of landing a stun on the killer in Propnight is the use of a special item: the camera. The camera is an offensive item that uses the flash to stun the killer, but does expire from the player's inventory. The golden (legendary) version of the camera can be used indefinitely.

Survivors can obtain items in Propnight in two different ways. The first is purchasing items from a chest with Propcoins. The other way of obtaining an item is from character selection. Specific characters can spawn with specific items; just like how each killer has their own unique power.

The camera is one of the best ways to land a stun on the killer, as all the player must do is aim and shoot. The camera flash then stuns the killer for a total of four seconds. The golden/legendary version of the camera can be used multiple times, but has a lengthy cooldown of 120 seconds before the player can use it again.

Propnight was released on November 30th, 2021, and is available on Microsoft Windows.
