Slightly Mad Studios officially confirms the Project Cars 3 release date after saying that the game would be available in summer 2020. The developer announced Project Cars 3 last month, though not all fans of the racing game series were happy with what they saw.

On Twitter, Slightly Mad Studios announced that the Project Cars 3 release date is August 28, 2020. The game will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Slightly Mad Studios offered a pre-order bonus for Project Cars 2 but it's unclear if this is also something that the developer is planning to do for the new game in the series.

The game's release date comes just months before the planned launches of the PS5 and the Xbox Series X and many fans want to know if Project Cars 3 will also be available on these consoles. Codemasters, which acquired Slightly Mad Studios in November 2019, is developing Dirt 5 as a next-gen launch title which means that the two racing games could clash. This may be the reason why Project Cars 3 is launching so early and why the game won't be available on next-gen.

Project Cars 3 could potentially get a PS5 and Xbox Series X upgrade, like many other games that are launching on PS4 and Xbox One. However, this means that it could bump into PS5 exclusive Gran Turismo 7 which doesn't have a release date but is made for the same demographic of hardcore racing fans.

Project Cars 3 will be released on August 28, 2020 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
