Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, like most games in the same genre, features a variety of upgrades to its core set of character mechanics. Sargon, The Lost Crown's protagonist, can improve himself in a wide variety of ways. Weapons can be upgraded with special ore, Amulets can be re-forged to become even more powerful, health potions can gradually restore more health, and the health bar itself can be increased considerably. To accomplish any of this, however, Sargon will have to fulfill a specific set of requirements for each upgrade type.

This guide will focus on gathering Soma Tree Petals and Soma Tree Flowers, which are the key requirement for upgrading Sargon's health bar. The basic rule here is that one Soma Tree Flower equals one new health node added to the health bar. To create a flower, Sargon will have to collect four Soma Tree Petals. It is also possible for Sargon to come across completed Soma Tree Flowers, though this is very rare. Players can use this guide to locate and gather all available Soma Tree items in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.

Soma Tree Petal 1

PoP-Soma-Tree-Petal-1

The first Soma Tree Petal is available from the Magi Emporium in The Haven. Sargon can purchase this for 500 Time Crystals as soon as the Emporium becomes available.

Soma Tree Petal 2

PoP-Soma-Petal-2-Map

Sargon will acquire the second petal as a reward for killing the Undead Prisoner mini-boss on his way to the Hyrcanian Forest. This fight is along the path of the main story and cannot be missed.

PoP-Soma-Petal-2

Sargon will acquire the first in-world Soma Tree Petal on his way out of the Lower City.

Soma Tree Petal 3

PoP-Soma-Petal-3-Map

The third Soma Petal will be available mid-game, once Sargon has acquired the Dimensional Claw ability. On the western edge of the lower city, there is a large chamber that leads under the building depicted on the map with two large statues and a door. Heading west, the path that leads to this chamber must be destroyed using an explosive item held with Dimensional Claw. Soma Tree Petal 3 will then be found in the top section of the chamber, with the exact location depicted on the above map image.

PoP-Soma-Petal-3

This area is found just east of the sole Wak-Wak tree found in this chamber section.

Soma Tree Petal 4 and 5

PoP-Soma-Tree-Petal-4-5

These petals are given as rewards for completing portions of the 'Prophecy of Mount Qaf' side quest. Petal 4 is given after collecting 5 Spirited-Sand Jars, and Petal 5 is given after collecting 20.

Soma Tree Petal 6

PoP-Soma-Tree-Petal-6-Deserter-1

The sixth Soma Tree Petal is given as a reward for completing 'The Deserter' side-quest, which can be completed on Sargon's first trip to the Hyrcanian forest. See the map for the exact location of the Deserter. The reward will come after locating the Deserter's lost friend.

The Deserter's lost friend can be found southeast of the Deserter, at the bottom of the next large chamber. See the map above for the exact location.

Soma Tree Petal 7

PoP-Soma-Petal-7

The seventh Soma Tree Petal is found at one of the 'hidden chest' puzzle sites that make up 'The Architect' side-quest. At the location shown on the map, players will see four platforms with red grass growing on them. Players simply need to cut the grass on all four platforms before any grows back. This will reveal the chest at the bottom of the puzzle.

PoP-Soma-Petal-7-Map

The 'Red Grass' puzzle is located just southwest of the 'Forest Ruins' fast-travel marker.

Soma Tree Petal 8

PoP-Soma-Petal-8-Map

This Soma Tree Petal is found north of the Prison area in the Sacred Archives. Sargon will come across several enemies appearing to pray at a large alter. There are four squares on the ground that are the key to solving this puzzle. Three of the squares are occupied by enemies, leaving the fourth noticeably vacant. Sargon simply needs to crouch in the unoccupied square for several moments to solve the puzzle and reveal the hidden chest.

PoP-Soma-Petal-8

Soma Tree Petal 9

PoP-Soma-Petal-9-Map

The ninth Soma Tree Petal is also found in the Sacred Archives, though it is not available to Sargon until later in the game. If players manage to get caught by Jailer, they will be sent to the Prison area. This area has three cells along its eastern edge, and the Soma Tree Petal is given as a reward for defeating a mini-boss that resides in the bottom cell.

PoP-Soma-Petal-9

To get in the cell, players need to defeat The Lost Crown's Jailer. Doing this requires the Clairvoyance ability, which allows Sargon to bypass the Jailer's defenses. Attacking the Jailer with the ability activated will allow Sargon to emerge victorious, key in hand.

Soma Tree Petal 10

PoP-Soma-Petal-10-Map

The tenth petal is gained through completing one of the game's trickier puzzles. At the location marked on the map, there is an orange portal door. Entering the door takes Sargon to one of the timed puzzles that offer three attempts to clear. The solution to the puzzle is as follows:

PoP-Soma-Petal-10

Attempt 1: Stay on the bottom floor. There will be two triggers in the ground, stand on each one briefly, making sure the above gate is opened long enough for someone to pass. After the floor triggers, Sargon will find a hand-operated lever. Make sure to use it twice, with a brief pause between uses. After the switch, there is one more floor trigger. Press that, then head to the end of the run and drop a Shadow to teleport back to later.

Attempt 2: For the second run, head to the top floor. The goal here is essentially the same as the bottom floor. Use the triggers to open a path so Sargon can get through the middle floor on his third run. At the final switch, teleport down to the Shadow after using. A new pressure plate is now available. Stand on it to close out the run.

Attempt 3: If everything is done right, Sargon should be able to head right down the middle tier as the gates open for him. Complete the puzzle to receive Soma Tree Petal 10.

Soma Tree Petal 11

PoP-Soma-Petal-11-Map

Looking at the Depths on the map, players will see a chamber that has the image of a person falling. To find this petal, head west from this chamber past the crawling, masked worm. Players will come to a stair set that leads to an edge with falling poison sludge. From this edge, drop and dash east to find a hidden area with Soma Petal 11.

PoP-Soma-Petal-11

Soma Tree Petal 12

PoP-Soma-Petal-12-Map

The twelfth Soma Tree Petal is found in the Sunken Harbor. From the Landmines fast-travel point, head east along the northernmost route. Sargon will reach a large, open chamber with hanging spiked logs and several arrow traps with hanging triggers. Head to the top of this chamber, then slightly east into the channel at the top. Here, Sargon will encounter a 'Mimic' chest.

PoP-Soma-Petal-12-1

Defeating the chest will grant Sargon Soma Tree Petal 12.

Soma Tree Petal 13

PoP-Soma-Petal-13-Map

In the center of the Sunken Harbor map, players will find a chamber marked with several hanging platforms. To the east of this chamber, between the hanging platforms and the Pirate Ship chamber, is where the next Soma Tree petal will be found.

PoP-Soma-Petal-13

Stick to the western wall of the chamber shown on the map, and players will locate Soma Tree Petal 13 in the top left corner of the room.

Soma Tree Petal 14

PoP-Soma-Petal-14-Map

Soma Tree Petal 14 is found in a small chamber east of the path that leads to the Tower of Silence. Look for a series of statues on the map in the northern section of Soma Tree. In this small chamber, Sargon will need to use Dimenisonal Claw to clear a glowing yellow wall on the ceiling, and then again on the wall of the next chamber.

PoP-Soma-Petal-14

After clearing the walls, Sargon will be blocked from exiting the chamber until he defeats all enemies. He can then drop into a room below and collect the Soma Tree Petal.

Soma Tree Petal 15

PoP-Soma-Petal-15-Map

After defeating Orod on the Raging Sea, head east to the Celestial Guardian. Before shooting the arrow into the night sky, pick up the Soma Tree Petal that sits waiting just before.

PoP-Soma-Petal-15

Soma Tree Petal 16

PoP-Soma-Petal-16-Map

This petal technically sits in one of The Lost Crown's secret Ghost Ship. To reach this area, Sargon must use the Fabric of Time to reach the Hidden Village. This is found past the furthest edge of the eastern Soma Tree border. The end of the Hidden Village is called the Lighthouse. At the lowest level of the Lighthouse, there appears to be a normal drop that will kill Sargon. However, if he jumps into the Abyss, he will fall into a special area between the Hidden Village and the Raging Sea. This is the Ghost Ship.

PoP-Soma-Petal-16

Inside the Ghost Ship, Sargon will encounter a 'survival wave' room in which he must defeat all oncoming enemies. Once this is complete, he can collect the Soma Tree Petal.

Soma Tree Petal 17

PoP-Soma-Petal-17-Map

The seventeenth Soma Tree Petal is found in the Pit of Eternal Sands. In the northwest corner of the region, Sargon will find a long traversal puzzle that goes in a loop. Sargon must make his way around the loop, which leads to a small chamber at the end that contains the petal.

PoP-Soma-Petal-17

Soma Tree Petal 18

PoP-Soma-Petal-18-Map-1

Soma Tree Petal 18 is found in the southeast section of the Pit of Eternal Sands. From the Sentinel's Road fast-travel point, head west and follow the path that heads down below the main floor section of the area. Here, Sargon will find a large chamber with two massive statues, and a contraption that features two of the area's large, snake-shaped objects that shoot out at high speed. Here, the two objects smash into each other, with a small pedestal sitting where they meet.

To solve this puzzle, Sargon must use the Dimensional Claw to capture the enemy type that looks like the large statues in the puzzle chamber, and return it to this site for a 'sacrifice.' Toss the enemy down into the area where the snakes are triggered, then watch it get smashed.

PoP-Soma-Petal-18-1

The enemy type can be found in several different places, but one guaranteed location is the bridge area that is at the bottom of the chamber that contains the Day Temple fast-travel point. it's easy to reach, and very close to the travel point, making it easy to return to Sentinel's Road in the Pit.

Soma Tree Petal 19

PoP-Soma-Petal-19-Map

Sargon will find Soma Tree Petal 18 in the easternmost chamber in the Tower of Silence. This chamber is easily spotted on the map, as it is marked with the large wing of Simurgh. While this petal is easy to get, Sargon will have to wait until he has access to the Fabric of Time.

PoP-Soma-Petal-19

Once he possesses that ability, he will be able to swing across the open space and locate the petal on a small ledge sticking out of the eastern wall.

Soma Tree Petal 20

PoP-Soma-Petal-20-Map

Soma Tree Petal 20 is found in a long, slender chamber that sits pretty close to the center of the Tower of Silence region on the map. Just east of this area is a chamber that is marked on the map with images of falling ice boulders, and further east is the chamber with the large wing.

PoP-Soma-Petal-20

This petal is a reward for completing the area's only Hidden Chest puzzle. Here, Sargon will find what appears to be a large statue that is shattered, with pieces floating in the air. However, when the camera is lined up in the correct position, the player will notice as the statue takes on its proper shape. When this occurs, aim and shoot the chakram into the center ring of the statue. This will solve the puzzle and reveal the hidden chest.

Soma Tree Petal 21

PoP-Soma-Petal-21-Map

Soma Tree Petal 21 is available after defeating Menolias in the Upper City. Just as Sargon received a petal after defeating Orod, this petal is waiting to be picked up on the way to shooting the arrow that completes the Celestial Guardian task. It is impossible to miss as it is sitting directly in Sargon's path.

PoP-Soma-Petal-21

Soma Tree Petal 22

PoP-Soma-Petal-22-Map

This petal is found in the bell-shaped chamber beneath the southwestern edge of Upper City. There are three chests at the bottom of the chamber, with the chest on the right actually being a Mimic. Destroy the creature to receive Soma Tree Petal 22.

To open the latch at the top of the chamber, Sargon will need to use The Lost Crown's Dimensional Claw ability on one of the pink power cells found in the area. Once it is his possession, plug it into the receptacle directly above the latch to open it. Sargon can then descend into the chamber and grab the petal.

Soma Tree Petal 23

PoP-soma-Petal-23-Map-2

Soma Tree Petal 23 is found at the end of a traversal puzzle on the western side of Upper City. Check the above map to see the player's location, which is where the puzzle will begin. Sargon will need to use the Chakram Teleport ability he gets from defeating Menolias. The petal sits at the end of the traversal section.

PoP-Soma-Petal-23

Soma Tree Petal 24

PoP-Soma-Petal-24-Map

Defeating General Ardashir at the end of 'The Lost Warriors' side-quest will award Sargon with the final Soma Tree Petal. After Sargon has defeated the Lost Warriors in every region, he will return to the Lower City to face down the leader. He will be found in a chamber far below the city.

Sargon will need to use the Chakram Teleport ability to get through two metal grates that block his way. The battle will take place at the very bottom of the chamber shown on the map.
