The Metroidvania genre gets a new entry with Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, and among its many platforming and combat challenges lies a few interesting puzzles to overcome. Naturally, there are secrets to be found for those with keen eyes, but some require a more out-of-the-box approach.

The Jailer encounter is one of those. A blind giant roaming the corridors of the Sacred Archives, any noise made within his range will see this enemy chase players down relentlessly and throw them into prison. This guide is the best place to start for those seeking a solution to eliminate this problem.

Meeting the Jailer in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

At the start, there is only one solution when it comes to the Jailer in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Avoid detection at all costs, as this foe can only be truly vanquished after getting more power in Sargon's hands. Be sure to avoid the radius of his hearing using the display on-screen, and if you get detected, keep sprinting to the nearest exit and slide under the Jailer if he teleports to block the exit.

However, chances are, players will get caught the first time they meet the jailer, which will see them thrown into prison. To escape, simply go left in the cell room Sargon wakes up in and destroy the boarded-up hole in the ceiling. This will lead you to the wider areas of the prison, where exits can be found on either the western or eastern sides.

Keep progressing the main story until Sargon is tasked with finding a way into the Pit of Eternal Sands.

Now, Sargon will have enough time powers at his disposal to make his way deeper into the Sacred Archives. Once you have reached the room with a blue portal in the middle, it is time to put on the time-manipulating hat to solve four puzzles before gaining access to the blue portal.

Make full use of Sargon's abilities to leave a double behind and his air dash to complete the puzzles. Once you are done, the way to the final portal will open, and going in will nab Sargon the Clairvoyance ability, which allows him to toggle between two world states, which can be used to manipulate the purple transparent objects in the world.

Keep heading up, and eventually, the way heading out of the Sacred Archives will be blocked by the Jailer in his own arena. There will be no need to avoid this enemy this time.

Phase 1

This time around, the Jailer will not fight Sargon alone and will summon several waves of enemies to help. The first wave will see two archers and a brute join the fight, so get to the top platforms and get rid of those ranged enemies first. The Jailer will also constantly chase after Sargon, so use this opportunity to lure it away from the brute so you can eliminate the latter without any disturbance.

Watch out for the lower area as well, as any movement will cause the traps to activate, so try not to venture anywhere near the lower level. With just the Jailer left, focus on the enemy and watch out for his multiple swipes and thrusts. Parry and punish the enemy, and eventually, he will fall to his knees and attempt to go into the other dimension. Use Clairvoyance by pressing in on the right stick, and keep attacking to move into the next phase.

Phase 2

The second wave is much more dangerous, with the two tailed assassins proving to be more elusive and potent in their attacking prowess. As much as possible, deal with them separately, and keep an eye out for the teleporting enemy as well. Air juggles and combos work best to keep the enemies occupied, and use Athra powers to even the odds. As usual, focus on the Jailer afterward, and do not let him rest.

Phase 3

The last wave will see the Jailer summon two dual-wielding enemies. They are as agile as Sargon is and are prone to dodge attacks. Make sure to get them into the air and juggle them to make short work of these opponents. After that, it is time to finally put the Jailer down, which rewards Sargon with plenty of Time Crystals as well as the Holy Scholarship Key.
