Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a 2D action-adventure game by Ubisoft, and the latest entry in their modern take on the classic franchise. The Lost Crown attempts to balance challenging, fast-paced combat with the series' classic platforming and metroidvania mechanics, calling back to the series' roots while also paving its own unique path. While the game's story is completely new, it is told within the same Prince of Persia universe, and fans of the series will find many details that connect it to previous entries.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is an excellent Metroidvania and one of the best Prince of Persia games to date.
At its core, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown's gameplay is based around exploring the diverse regions that make up Mount Qar. The main story provides players with a small taste of each region, but The Lost Crown is at its best when Sargon, the game's protagonist, is allowed to scour the map for its many side-quests, hidden boss fights, countless collectibles, and darkest secrets. With that in mind, this guide hub will focus on leading players through content that focuses on these key areas.

Gameplay Guides and Tips
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown features a robust combat system that may require some practice before being mastered. With his swords, bow, and chakram, Sargon is able to perform a wide-range of attack combinations and defensive actions. Along with this, The Lost Crown features two unique ability systems that add considerably to combat. The first, Athra Surges, act as special moves that utilize the Athra meter, which builds up during combat. The second system is Sargon's unique abilities gained from Simurgh, a deity that bestows powers to chosen representatives. These powers unfold over the course of the game, and play a central role in both combat and traversal. This section will focus on content that ranges from basic combat tips and beginner guides, to mastering the collective use of all powers, turning Sargon into an unstoppable force.

The focus seems to be on quality over quantity, as many of the quests play out over much of the game, acting as a clever catalyst for exploration. Instead of having a large number of inconsequential quests, The Lost Crown clearly attempts to imbue each piece of side-content with as much meaning as possible, using them to fill out the lore of Mount Qaf and its inhabitants. While a large portion of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is focused on combat experiences, there is a nearly equal portion that is dedicated to the exploration of Mount Qaf. In fact, many of the game's biggest combat set pieces are only encountered after leading Sargon through several tough environmental/traversal puzzles. Solving the puzzles becomes an extremely satisfying aspect of The Lost Crown, and an integral part of the exploration process.
