Predator: Hunting Grounds, the follow-up to IllFonic's similar asymmetrical title Friday the 13th: The Game, has been adding consistent new content for fans to enjoy since it released in April 2020. Arnold Schwarzenegger was added as a paid DLC character in May, reprising his role as Dutch from the 1987 sci-fi classic, and today a brand-new character was introduced based on football player Marshawn "Beast Mode" Lynch.

Lynch began his professional career playing for the Buffalo Bills in 2007 when he was 21 years old, according to the NFL, and he was a running back for the Seattle Seahawks when that team won Super Bowl 48 against the Denver Broncos in 2013. Predator: Hunting Ground's latest paid DLC pack adds a brand-new character to the Predator universe named Dante "Beast Mode" Jefferson, voiced and modeled after the player with whom he shares a title.

This is the seventh paid DLC addition following up on other new characters and referential skins for the Predator itself, and another DLC pack is coming in February 2021 according to a graphic included in a PlayStation Blog post announcing Dante Jefferson. While players have to pay to access the football player-turned-hunter, a simultaneous free update adds a new OWLF Operative class for those who reach level 40, as well as three new guns: A proximity detector launcher, EMP mine, and plasma rifle.

IllFonic said this release is like its holiday present for fans, and the developer "can't wait to share what we have in store for 2021." The Predator has been an enduring pop culture icon since its first movie, and another testament to that success is teasers suggesting Predator could crossover with Fortnite in the near future.

Predator: Hunting Grounds is available now on PC and PlayStation 4.
