Capcom has confirmed that the mysterious action-adventure game Pragmata is being delayed again. The previous delay set a release window of 2023 for Pragmata, but that's no longer the plan. During the recent Capcom Showcase 2023 event, it was confirmed that Pragmata is now being delayed indefinitely. No updated release date has been provided, as Capcom focuses on the game's continued development without the pressure of questions regarding its status.

Pragmata was first announced in 2020 with a trailer that piqued Capcom fans' interest. It featured a protagonist in a futuristic space suit, a mix of a modern astronaut's gear and something more military in appearance. The astronaut is in the middle of a city and is accompanied by a small girl with a robotic cat. A satellite appears to break through the sky, which could actually be a series of screens. The astronaut and girl are sucked into the gap in the sky and end the trailer standing on the moon.

Suffice it to say, those interested in Pragmata have been questioning what the game is since its very first announcement. Answers have not been forthcoming from Capcom, however, and won't be coming for some time. In late 2021, a short video showed the young girl holding a sign that confirmed Pragmata was delayed into 2023. In the recent Capcom Showcase 2023, another video akin to the last delay updated the release date from 2023 to a question mark.

The new Pragmata delay was at least delivered via a longer video that can be looked at like a full game trailer. While the young girl is drawing her message about the game's delay, the astronaut is shown battling several robotic enemies that have never been shown before. There's also a montage of gameplay sequences, showing that Pragmata is indeed a third-person action-adventure game. Players dodge enemy melee attacks, explore what looks to be a space installation, and the young girl is even shown to have strange powers.

At the end of the trailer, a longer note from Capcom is shared. The note says that with a "heavy heart," Capcom is postponing the release of Pragmata yet again. It's not canceled, however. Development is continuing so that Capcom can make Pragmata the "best game that [it] possibly can."

Obviously, this isn't the news that Capcom fans were likely hoping for regarding Pragmata. It's still good to receive an update on the game's development, though. If the development of Pragmata needs more time for Capcom to realize its vision for the strange game, then a delay is likely what's best for it. While a release date is not confirmed for 2024, Capcom will hopefully share more information about Pragmata next year -- if not sooner.

Pragmata is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
