FuturLab's hit game PowerWash Simulator is adding a popular location from the Tomb Raider trilogy. Published by Square Enix, the simulator title has been gaining a lot of traction since its early release on Steam back in 2021. As the game looks to build on its popularity, adding a well-known location from the Tomb Raider franchise could prove to be interesting.

Despite being based on a seemingly mundane everyday task, PowerWash Simulator has emerged as one of the most entertaining titles from the simulator genre, particularly with its selection of maps, an intriguing plot line, and other interesting mechanics. With the rising popularity, the developers had already teased that more content will be heading to PowerWash Simulator sometime back. The recent news of Tomb Raider DLC may be one of the few additions fans can expect from the title.

According to the announcement, Croft Manor, one of the most iconic locations from the Tomb Raider series, will be coming to PowerWash Simulator as a DLC. This means players will get to spend a good time cleaning the Croft Manor, both inside and out. As such, the "Tomb Raider Special Pack" will come as a free offering for those who already own the game which includes a mini-campaign, with a short story and five new levels. Players would be able to access the new content via the new Specials section in the game's main menu once it goes live. Alternatively, FuturLab states that it will offer a link to the store page for manual activation.

Incidentally, the Tomb Raider DLC will be available from January 31 onwards, alongside the PowerWash Simulator launch on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation consoles. Developers further mentioned that fans can expect more changes including the Research Edition Rewards at launch. However, FuturLab clarified there won't be any crossplay between Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, and other platforms. Though crossplay between Xbox, Windows PC, and Steam will still be possible.

The announcement should come as welcome news for fans of the simulation genre and for those who have been waiting for more PowerWash Simulator updates. It could also mean that the hit title may pull in a few Tomb Raider players, especially when it looks to expand its reach and availability across all major gaming platforms. The Tomb Raider addition goes to show that the possibilities for PowerWash Simulator crossover DLC are endless. It will be interesting to see where the game goes from here.

PowerWash Simulator is currently available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, with a PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch release on January 31.
