Power Rangers Beast Morphers is the current Power Rangers series on the air right now. Its presently in its second and final season, so once it's finished, a new team will take its place.

Until now, these new rangers didn't have a name, but an official report from IGN has changed that. They're called Power Rangers Dino Fury, and they'll headline the show for its 28th season.

Dino Fury will adapt the 43rd season of Japan's Super Sentai show, which, in typical Power Rangers fashion, sees the Earth threatened by an alien invasion. To defend it, the Morphin Grid grants a new set of protagonists dino-themed ranger powers, echoing past seasons like Mighty Morphin (1993), Dino Thunder (2004), and Dino Charge (2015).

The official plot summary reads:

"When an army of powerful alien beings is unleashed on Earth, threatening life as we know it, a brand-new team of Power Rangers, fueled by the pre-historic power of the dinosaurs, are recruited to deal with the threat."

Power Rangers' 28th season could have adapted four other seasons of the Super Sentai show, and some fans can't help but feel a little disappointed. While Dino Fury's familiarity will surely satisfy a lot of new and long-term fans, the other seasons arguably have more unique themes than another dinosaur team.

The result has left some wondering what Power Rangers could have been, but maybe show's 29th season and beyond will adapt these other Super Sentai installments.

Power Ranger Dino Fury is currently scheduled to premiere sometime in 2021.
