Postal 4: No Regerts, the sequel to a game dubbed as The Worst Game Ever, finally has a release date on a day that could not be more fitting. Patient fans who have waited 11 years since the previous title or have been waiting on early access development to finish up can expect to play Postal 4: No Regerts in a matter of weeks.

Game development studio Running With Scissors has a long and storied history as an off-beat and irreverent studio creating comically violent games, with its infamous Postal games often being the subject of controversy due to their over-the-top use of violence. Running With Scissors returns to the Postal franchise after 2011’s negative reception of Postal 3, which the studio has since playfully denounced.

The team announced that the official release date for Postal 4: No Regerts is April 20. Postal 4 has been in early access since October 2019, making update 1.0 the official full release for early access backers of the game. Update 1.0 brings with it the voices of Postal 1 and 2’s Rick Hunter and Postal 3’s Corey Cruise as selectable voice options in Postal 4. Additionally, update 1.0 will feature a grappling hook, improved errands, more side content, cutscene improvements, and much more. Running With Scissors calls Postal 4 the definitive modern Postal experience.

As a franchise that goes all the way back to 1997, it comes as no surprise that Running With Scissors has also stated its intent to support Postal 4 for years to come. Planned features include new weapons, co-op, and Steam Deck support. On Steam, the game sits at a “Very Positive” rating among user reviews. Early backers are enthusiastic about the shooter, and Postal 4 has managed to graduate from early access to full release. All fairly positive indicators that this game could, in fact, be the definitive Postal experience for the modern era.

Postal 4: No Regrets is currently only available in early access on PC via Steam. Unfortunately, a console port does not appear to be in the works, at least not for now. Notably, the Postal series has found its way to consoles in the past, with PlayStation 4 and Switch receiving ports of the original game. Historically, the Postal series of games has never been received positively among critics, with the series being more of a cult hit. It remains to be seen how successful Postal 4 could be after its full release and if some newfound success could lead to the game coming to more platforms in the future.
