Given the massive output of the film industry, it's only a given that not every movie is bound to be a cinematic masterpiece. In fact, some films end up being quite polarizing, with a substantial number of people finding many faults with these movies and how they bog down the overall experience. People might feel like they've wasted their time after sitting through a movie and not enjoying its cinematic chops.RELATED: Movies To Watch If You Love Red Dead RedemptionHowever, even the most divisive movies around can still have stellar soundtracks that make it well worth the price of admission. Keeping this in mind, here are some movies that split audiences down the middle, but received unanimous praise for their soundtrack.

10 Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad

While The Suicide Squad has helped overhaul the cast of the movie somewhat, the original movie still leaves a sour taste in the mouths of many fans. That being said, its soundtrack is still a thing of beauty.

The selection of rock songs present throughout the title makes for a great audio experience if nothing else. The movie's composed soundtrack is also pretty great, although it still isn't enough to redeem the film in the eyes of many moviegoers.

9 Mortal Kombat

Movie adaptations of video game titles are generally quite woeful, and Mortal Kombat was no exception here. However, the movie still had enough elements to satiate most video game fans, with its soundtrack being its saving grace.

The main Mortal Kombat theme has become the stuff of legends due to its catchy tune and fitting ambiance. It's a great cult classic film that people can still watch to this day, with its soundtrack being one of its stronger points.

8 Transformers

Michael Bay's first Transformers movie sparked a series of action-packed titles that received negative reviews from critics time and time again, even though they made a ton of money at the box office. The first movie falls within this category, although its soundtrack should receive a ton of praise.

Whether it be the original tracks or the selected music, Transformers excels on all fronts from a purely musical perspective. The rest of the movie doesn't reach these heights, however.

7 Sucker Punch

Sucker Punch

Zack Snyder might've redeemed himself somewhat with the release of the Snyder Cut for Justice League, but there was a time when this director was just releasing one dud after another. Sucker Punch is a great example of this.

The soundtrack and CGI are the only two good parts of the movie, with everything else falling flat. Thankfully, the rousing music of this movie definitely made all the action scenes feel more alive and interesting.

6 Last Action Hero

The idea of a fictional hero coming into the real world is a pretty interesting concept, and Last Action Hero makes the most of this premise. The film might not have had the greatest critical reception upon launch, but viewers quickly warmed up to this movie over time.

A big part of why so many people love this movie is its stellar soundtrack. The sheer number of legendary rock bands and their fitting songs make every scene of this film feel all the more alive and engaging.

5 Twilight

Twilight

Not a lot needs to be said about the quality of Twilight — the internet has already taken care of that. However, credit should be given where credit's due, and Twilight's soundtrack deserves a ton of credit. The score of this movie is pretty great, and the use of licensed music was done tastefully. As a result, Twilight becomes a decent experience as opposed to a complete trainwreck.

4 Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace

Qui-Gon, Padme, Jar Jar, and R2-D2 arrive on Tatooine in The Phantom Menace

The prequel trilogy of Star Wars is notoriously polarizing for the fanbase. The first movie set the tone for the mediocrity that some fans associate with the prequels.

However, its patented Star Wars score was still a thing of beauty. Most people love the race scene present in The Phantom Menace, and this is mainly to do with the amazing soundtrack that went behind this and many other scenes in the film.

3 Tron: Legacy

Tron: Legacy is an attempt at a reboot that most people weren't really fond of. However, don't let this reception take away from the brilliant soundtrack of the movie, which used the music of Daft Punk to great effect.

The delightful tones of this amazing musical duo are the only reason why most people still look back fondly on Tron: Legacy to this day. Of course, its CGI also deserves some credit...but almost everything else about this movie fell flat on its face.

2 Spider-Man 3

Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy is still considered by many to be the best series of Spider-Man movies ever made. Even the mixed reception of the third movie didn't take much away from the trilogy's brilliance.

It helped that the score of Spider-Man 3 is as good as the first two films and elevates the movie to a whole new level. The epic yet relatable nature of Spider-Man absolutely shines in the music, even though it falters in other departments.

1 The Last Airbender

The Last Airbender movie

There might be a small group of people who are unfamiliar with the source material that might find something worth looking out for in The Last Airbender, but the majority of the fanbase hate this film with a passion. If there's one thing that this movie should be lauded for, it's the music.

The soundtrack of the movie has some great tracks – it's just a shame that most of them are wasted in this half-hearted attempt to adapt a beloved piece of source material for the big screen.
