A pair of Pokemon fans have created an incredible blanket featuring Pikachu. The blanket is adorned with numerous images of Pikachu's various emotions as seen in Pokemon Yellow.

Pokemon Yellow followed Pokemon Red and Blue as a sort of alternate take on the original games' formula. The title introduced a number of elements from the Pokemon anime, replacing things like generic Team Rocket grunts with the Jessie and James duo, or starting the player out with a Pikachu instead of Squirtle, Charmander, or Bulbasaur. One of the features in the game was the ability to select Pikachu and get a pop-up depicting what it was feeling or thinking about in that moment. Early on in the game, Pikachu would appear frustrated and annoyed with its new trainer, like how it responded to Ash in the early moments of the anime. However, over time, the player developed a sweet relationship with Pikachu, and it would show signs of curiosity, excitement, and happiness when checked on.

These are the emotional reactions that Reddit user ripWSB put into play with their Pikachu blanket. The piece was a project between two people, and began with twenty crocheted squares as the base. On each of the squares, a Pikachu reaction from Pokemon Yellow was cross-stitched in, and then the squares were sewn together. A single crochet border was added around the blanket, finishing the charming design. Everything from Pikachu's reactions in the original Pokemon Yellow have been reproduced perfectly, down to the Pokeball border. According to ripWSB, the project was created over the course of half a year, and took between 70-80 hours to create between the crocheting and cross-stitching.

This isn't the pair of artists' first venture into fandom crochet and cross-stitch work. The same fan has previously shared blankets made featuring Kirby and the Companion Cube from Portal 2.

While not everyone is a pro with a needle, those who have some talent in these crafts seem to enjoy using them to highlight their favorite Pokemon. Even adult fans can collect and use these sorts of creations, which may be part of their popularity.
