A Pokemon fan has created an impressive Poke Ball recreation crafted out of wood. The item has drawn a lot of attention from fellow Pokemon fans after the artist asked what Pokemon they thought would be appropriate to catch in it.

Custom Poke Balls are becoming a popular fan creation among the Pokemon community. Whether players are simply penning designs, 3D printing custom Poke Balls, or crafting them out of wood with creations like these, there's plenty of variety to be had. Now that the Pokemon series has so many dfiferent Poke Balls, it's understandable that fans celebrate their favorites and dream up some new ones, as well.

Pokemon Fan Artists Design New Regional Variants for Volcarona, Torkoal, Mareep, and More

Two talented artists from the Pokemon community share a variety of new regional forms that are to appear in an upcoming Pokemon fan game.

Pokemon fan and artist Appearingfour5 shared their design for a brand new Poke Ball. The Poke Ball is made of wood and was put together utilizing a wood lathe. The majority of the Poke Ball is colored in rows of white, green, and red with dyed plywood. The center band is made of walnut. The entire Poke Ball has been beautifully polished, giving it a shiny, glossy appearance in the light. It's not the fan's first Poke Ball creation, as they sell other unique designs in their Etsy shop.

Pokemon fans have been impressed by the unique Poke Ball, with several sharing their ideas for what kind of Pokemon would be appropriate to catch in it. Based on the Poke Ball's coloring, one fan suggested Applin, while another considered Delibird with the Christmas theme often utilizing the same colors. One suggested a Sudowoodo, given the Pokemon's tree-like appearance, while another fan thought Hisuian Voltorb would be a good choice.

Unique Poke Balls Inspire Creativity

In the early days of the Pokemon series, there were few Poke Balls to choose from, with most of them being beneficial when wild Pokemon levels rose and became more difficult to catch. Over time, though, the line has expanded considerably, with Poke Balls not just helping to boost catch rate, but also conveying certain benefits to the Pokemon within them. Some popular Poke Balls include the Love Ball, Heal Ball, and Luxury Ball, though fan favorites may be determined either by the Poke Ball's effect or its design.

Unique Poke Balls are being added to the Pokemon series all the time, so it will be interesting to see which arrive in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, the series' upcoming title. In the meantime, though, players will keep dreaming up designs all their own.
