In the early days of the Pokemon franchise, their games were created with one goal in mind: for the player to fill up their Pokedex. And while certain PVP elements were present, they were far less popular than trading or catching Pokemon. But, in favor of hardcore Pokemon fans, The Pokemon Company started to amp up the ante by introducing more competitive PVE and PVP elements.
And Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is the epiphany of that since even the PVE battles can be somewhat challenging for newcomers to the series. And Pokemon Violet's final boss, Professor Turo, is a good example of a powerful opponent. But, players that bring the right Pokemon can easily brush him off without breaking a sweat.
6 Tyranitar
Over the years, Tyranitar has earned the title of Pseudo-Legendary Pokemon (sort of like Anakin and the Jedi High Council) because of its immense power capabilities. That's why players will want to have Tyranitar on their team since it'll be able to take down most Pokemon easily, especially Professor Turo's Iron Moth. IV stat-wise, a decent Tyranitar roams around 600, making it one of the best IV'ed Pokemon in Pokemon Violet.
Additionally, Tyranitar can have the "Serene Grace" ability, which doubles the chances of inflicting status effects, stat changes, and flinching. Players can take advantage of this ability to flinch opponent Pokemon frequently with the aid of Bite, which all of the best Dark-type Pokemon know. And while it's a Rock- and Dark-type Pokemon, Tyranitar can learn Fire-, Ice-, and Dragon-type moves.
5 Palafin Hero
Undoubtedly, Professor Turo's Iron Thorns (Paradox Tyranitar found in Area Zero) is the toughest Paradox Pokemon in his team (aside from Miraidon). Fortunately, there's one Water-type Pokemon that can face Iron Thorns head-to-head, Palafin Hero. This unique Water-type Pokemon has a jaw-breaking Attack stat of 160, almost the max any normal Pokemon can achieve. And players can push Palafin Hero's Attack stat further by changing its Nature to Naughty (+10% Attack).
In terms of moves, Hydro Pump (Water-type) and Focus Punch (Fighting-type) since Paradox Tyranitar receives double damage from Water and Fighting-type moves. And the best part is that Finizen populates most of the water areas surrounding Paladin, meaning players can catch him early in the playthrough.
4 Magnezone
Magnezone has slowly become a staple Electric-type Pokemon for most competitive lineups because of its high Special Attack stat (130). Attacks like Zap Cannon or Thunder can weaken an opponent's Pokemon HP easily, especially if the Pokemon is weak to Electric-type moves. And since Magneton is considered a Common Pokemon, players can find one (especially South Province Area Four or West Province Area Three) without wasting too much time.
Magnezone is the best counter against Professor Turo's Iron Jugulis (Paradox Hydreigon), but even then players will have to play it safe. Fortunately, Magnezone can have the ability "Sturdy," preventing OHKO (One Hit Knockout) moves from triggering. So, players that want to add Magnezone to their team for the final battle against Professor Turo in Pokemon Violet will want to ensure their Magnezone has the Sturdy ability.
3 Espeon
Out of all the Eeveelutions, Espeon is the top pick when it comes to competitive PVE battles due to its Psyhic-type capabilities. And a well-built Espeon is the perfect match against Professor Turo's Iron Hands (Paradox Hariyama) since Fight-type Pokemon are notoriously weak against Psyhic-type Pokemon. But, Espeon's most notable advantage is its "Synchronize" ability, which causes the opponent Pokemon to suffer the same status effects as Espeon.
As for Nature, the best one is Mild, as it boosts Special Attack by 10%, which is what players want for Espeon. Players will want their Espeon to learn Psychic since it greatly lowers the opponent Pokemon's Special Defense, a stat the Iron Hands as quite high. Another top-tier Psyhic-type move is Future Sight, which unleashes a powerful Psychic attack at the end of the second turn.
2 Wo-Chien
Despite being a Legendary Pokemon, Wo-Chien can be caught before the final battle against Professor Turo, as long as players follow the steps to summon it. And while it's true that Wo-Chien's Attack stat is fairly low, its Defense and Special Defense make up for it. That means Wo-Chien is meant to be played more defensively than offensively, which is why players should use him against Iron Bundle (Paradox Delibird).
Players should aim to have "Tablets of Ruin" as Wo-Chien's ability since it significantly lowers the Attack of all Pokemon. If players are unlucky to catch a Wo-Chien with "Tablets of Ruins," they can purchase an Ability Capsule at one of the many Chansey Supply Shops around Paldea. As for moves, Leaf Storm is an S-tier Grass-type move that will pulverize most Water-type Pokemon.
1 Gyarados
One of the OG Generation 1 Pokemon, Gyarados makes a comeback as a must-have Pokemon for Professor Turo's final battle. Players should use Gyarados whenever they fight Professor Turo's Iron Valiant (Paradox Gallade), as it's extremely weak against Flying-type moves. But, the main reason players should use Gyarados is because of the ability "Moxie," one of the best new abilities in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Moxie boosts a Pokemon Attack stat by one stage for every fainted Pokemon. And since Iron Valiant is usually the last Pokemon to be sent out, allowing Gyarados to have an advantage from the get-go. The best Nature for Gyarados is Adamant (+10%) since Flying-type moves are physical-type attacks.
