Since its release in July of last year, Pokemon Unite has seen plenty of new creatures added to the game's roster over its nearly nine month lifespan. March saw the introduction of Gen 8's Duraludon to the game and previous updates throughout the beginning of the year have seen fan favorites like Aegislash and the Mythical Pokemon Hoopa added to the MOBA's cast of over 30 playable creatures. Now, with the game recently teasing two upcoming additions, TiMi Studios has officially revealed the next Pokemon set to join the fight.Pokemon Unite has expanded significantly from its initial roster of 19 Pokemon with the game regularly adding new Pokemon each month, often seeing multiple new creatures joining the game during a month. With a roster spanning all eight generations of the franchise and a mix of iconic classic characters like Dragonite and Charizard mixed with modern Pokemon like Decidueye and Greedent, Pokemon Unite has built a diverse cast of Pokemon each with unique playstyles. Now, Pokemon Unite has officially announced the Gen 2 Water Pokemon Azumarill as the newest addition to the game.RELATED: Pokemon Unite is Teasing 2 New Characters for the RosterPokemon Unite officially revealed Azumarill on Monday morning with a brief character spotlight showing off the Water Pokemon's moves. Azumarill will be introduced as a Melee All-Rounder character with attacks heavily focused on area-of-effect damage. Azumarill's attacks include a three-hit combo dealing damage in a cone in front of the Pokemon, as well as a ring of water magatama that float around Azumarill and damage enemies it touches. The Pokemon's Unite Move features Azumarill dashing towards its target and dealing heavy damage in a large area surrounding the landing point.

Azumarill was the subject of plenty of fan speculation leading up to its reveal with the Pokemon previously being leaked as the newest character to be added to Pokemon Unite. Following leaks showing off Azumarill's gameplay surfacing within the Pokemon Unite community, Unite's recent teaser hinted at two new Pokemon with one side of the leak causing many fans to believe that the Water-Fairy Pokemon would be coming to the game soon. Azumarill will be only the second member of Pokemon's second generation games to join the roster, following the addition of Blissey last August.

While Pokemon Unite's roster has steadily expanded over the months since release, the game has also seen the introduction of plenty of new cosmetics, features, and even new game types. February's Hoopa event saw the addition of the Fury game mode with a more fast-paced "Team Deathmatch" style than the game's normal objective-based matches. With Azumarill set to join the game soon and another mystery Pokemon on the horizon, Pokemon Unite's constant roster additions should look to give fans plenty of reason to keep queuing up well into the future.

Pokemon Unite is available now for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
