A Pokemon TCG player got a rare blister pack from their grandma containing the Fossil and Legendary Collection expansion packs. Pokemon cards began to be published in 1996 in Japan and 1999 in North America. In the following years, Pokemon TCG would become a much-loved aspect of the Pokemon franchise, bringing together thousands of fans and collectors around the world.

Pokemon TCG frequently releases new expansions, with some Pokemon cards being quite expensive for different reasons. Sometimes cards are given to tournament contestants, such as the Master Key given to participants in the Pokemon World Championships in 2010. No Rarity Venusaur is a high-priced card because of a printing error, an unusual reason that makes this type of card unique. Other cards such as Gold Star Umbreon Play Promo have a limited print run, making each copy valuable to its owner. Getting a rare Pokemon TCG card isn't easy, but one player was surprised to receive a very special gift from a family member.

Pokemon TCG Player Gets Rare Card Packs as a Gift

The other Pokemon TCG players were impressed by the OP's gift, and many asked them not to open the packs. The reason is that this blister pack is quite rare, as it contains a Legendary Collection Booster Pack, with cards from the expansion of the same name that was released in 2002 and has one of the most expensive Charizard cards. The other two packs belong to the Fossil expansion, which was released in 1999 and is the third release in the history of Pokemon TCG. In the comments, players revealed that the Fossil pack can be found on eBay for around $300, while the complete blister pack can go for over $2,000 if unopened.

Pokemon TCG continues to release expansions to keep players engaged. Gen 9 has received a total of 13 expansions, the latest being Pokemon TCG: Scarlet and Violet - Temporal Forces, which will be released in English in March. Another novelty related to the world of Pokemon cards is a new Pokemon TCG app for mobile devices, which promises to offer the experience of opening packs, trading, and battling in a digital version.
