A talented Pokemon fan is continuing their impressive line of human redesigns by showing off variants of the Gen 3 Flying types Taillow and Swellow. The long-running Pokemon franchise is home to a vast array of memorable creatures, and this has inspired countless artists to re-imagine them as different elemental types or even as fusions with other Pokemon. One other popular fan art trend is to create human versions of certain Pokemon like Litwick, with their distinct character traits being re-imagined as clothing or items that said humans carry with them.

Few Pokemon fan artists embody this quite like Reddit user endifi, who has been sharing stunning human renditions of numerous Pokemon for the past several months. From legendary Pokemon like the mysterious Unown to more common creatures like Larvitar and Mimikyu, endifi's drawings have been praised for skillfully blending each Pokemon's classic design with an anime-like aesthetic to create some visually impressive characters.

Endifi recently posted their latest work on r/pokemon, featuring a pair of human Taillow twins and their Swellow father. Like all of endifi’s previous Pokemon designs, these new characters translate their source Pokemon’s district visual traits into anime-like outfits, with the Taillows wearing black and red Japanese-style robes and carrying fans while Swellow is depicted as a samurai warrior holding twin swords. Endifi explained that Taillow was their first Region Bird Pokemon, and that this inspired them to create new human designs for it and Swellow based on an episode of the old Jackie Chan Adventures cartoon.

Both Taillow and Swellow were introduced in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire back in 2003, with the Tiny Swallow Pokemon Taillow evolving into the larger Swallow Pokemon Swellow after reaching level 22. Inspired by real-life Swallow birds and embodying both the Normal and Flying types, Taillow and Swellow have made appearances in numerous other Pokemon games, with their Shiny variants even being featured in Pokemon GO. Pokemon anime characters like Ash and Goh have caught Taillow throughout the series, with Ash's Taillow eventually evolving into Swellow during his trip through the Hoenn region.

Taillow and Swellow hold a special place in the hearts of many Pokemon players, as shown by it being one of the first bird-like Pokemon endifi caught while playing the games. As such, it was only a matter of time before it and its later Swellow evolution were redesigned as humans in the same style that endifi has used for several other Pokemon. There are countless other Pokemon who have yet to be redesigned as humans, meaning that endifi has plenty of options for their next big Pokemon art project.
