The Crown Tundra DLC expansion has finally been released for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield players to buy and enjoy. With it, multiple Pokemon from previous generations have been able to return with them being able to be transferred to players' PCs or found in the wild.

Among these inclusions are every single legendary Pokemon from previous Pokemon titles. What some Pokemon Sword and Shield players may not know is that this includes the Ultra Beasts from Pokemon Sun and Moon.

There are eleven Ultra Beasts that players can catch, with none of them being restricted to either version of the game. This means that all eleven can be caught in Pokemon Sword and all eleven can be caught in Pokemon Shield.

In order to find the Ultra Beasts, players will first need to beat Crown Tundra's main story. Additionally, players will need to finish all legendary clues, as well as catch all of the legendary birds alongside the Regis.

After all of the requirements are complete, players will need to talk to Peony in the Max Lair. Once that is done, Ultra Beasts will begin to spawn while players are doing Dynamax Adventures.

In Pokemon Sun and Moon and Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, the Ultra Beasts were dangerous Pokemon from other dimensions that were capable of invading other worlds via holes made by the Cosmog line. They have been known to level entire cities and destroy worlds in some cases. However, players will not need to worry about the world being at risk because of them in their copies of Sword and Shield.

These are the following Ultra Beasts that can be found in the Crown Tundra as well as their types:

  • Nihilego - Rock and Poison
  • Buzzwole - Bug and Fighting
  • Pheromosa - Bug and Fighting
  • Xurkitree - Electric
  • Celesteela - Steel and Flying
  • Kartana - Grass and Steel
  • Guzzlord - Dark and Dragon
  • Poipole - Poison
  • Naganadel - Poison and Dragon
  • Stakataka - Rock and Steel
  • Blacephalon - Fire and Ghost

There isn't a real way for players to choose which Ultra Beast to encounter first, but the majority of them would either work well for players' parties or be great for those trying to be a completionist. Either way, these Pokemon are by no means pushovers, so players will need to do their best when capturing them. There doesn't seem to be any in-game reward so far for those who do capture all of the Ultra Beasts.
