Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield's Isle of Armor DLC offer many old Pokemon returning to the Pokedex and many players' parties. One of these Pokemon is Porygon and its evolutions Porygon2 and Porygon-Z.

These Pokemon are based on 3D models with Porygon being an early low-poly model, Porygon2 being a more advanced high-poly model, and Porygon-Z being a glitched out model.

With these Pokemon coming back in the Isle of Armor DLC for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, many players would want to know how to obtain them.

Getting Porygon

Pokemon Porygon Official Art

Unlike many of the old Pokemon returning in Isle of Armor, Porygon cannot be found in the wild. It must instead be received from an NPC. However, players should note that due to the nature of receiving this Pokemon, it is shiny locked. If players want a shiny Porygon, they will have to try their chances with breeding it with a Ditto.

After defeating Mustard at the Dojo Court, players should see a Porygon near Hyde inside the dojo. Interacting with it will cause Hyde to give you the pure normal-type Pokemon. Of course, the next step is to figure out how to evolve it.

Getting Porygon2

Porygon2 is Porygon's next evolution. It is also a pure normal-type and evolves from Porygon if traded while holding an item known as an Upgrade.

Many players who have gotten Porygon already likely picked up the Upgrade while playing through Isle of Armor's story, but here is its location for those who haven't found it.

In the northern part of the Isle of Armor is an area known as the Training Lowlands. There it can be found in a Pokeball lying on the ground. The next step is to trade it to another trusted player while holding the Upgrade, which will cause it to evolve into Porygon2.

Getting Porygon-Z

Pokemon Porygon-Z

Porygon-Z is the evolution of Porygon 2 and is evolved via another trade evolution. However, this trade will require yet another trade item. This item is known as the Dubious Disc.

If players haven't picked it up during their initial trek through the Isle of Armor, the Dubious Disc can be found on a small island of sand located in Workout Sea.

Once again, players need to trade with a trusted player to ensure that they will get their Pokemon back upon evolution.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are available now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
