Right now, it's safe to say that most Pokemon fans are focused on the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but there may be those who are still exploring the Galar region in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Anyone still playing Pokemon Sword and Shield will want to take advantage of a new limited-time event that gives them the chance to add special Pokemon to their team, including a Dracovish based on the one used by Ash Ketchum in the anime series.

This new Pokemon Sword and Shield distribution event will be giving away five Pokemon based on Ash's team in the Pokemon anime series. The first of these Pokemon is a level 80 Water/Dragon-type Dracovish, which is available to claim right now. All Pokemon Sword and Shield fans have to do is input the Mystery Gift code GANJ0UAG0882 and claim their Dracovish by August 25.

All the Pokemon given away in this new Pokemon Sword and Shield distribution event will be level 80, though fans will have to wait to find out the codes for the rest of them. On August 26, Pokemon Sword and Shield players will be able to get Dragonite, while September 2 will see the release of a free Gengar. Sirfetch'd will be made available on September 9, with Lucario wrapping up the distribution event on September 16.

Even those that don't play Pokemon Sword and Shield regularly may want to take advantage of this distribution event while they still can, as at least some of these Pokemon will be transferrable to the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will not have a National Pokedex, so some Pokemon can't be transferred, but a full list of returning and excluded Pokemon has yet to be shared.

Based on the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailers released so far, it seems fans can count on Dragonite, Gengar, and Lucario appearing in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, though the jury is still out on if Dracovish or Sirfetch'd will make the cut. Sirfetch'd seems highly unlikely as it is the evolved form of Galarian Farfetch'd. Because of this, it wouldn't necessarily make a lot of sense for Sirfetch'd to appear in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Paldea region, but Pokemon fans will just have to wait and see what happens.

In the meantime, we know that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will have mystery gift codes of their own. One such code will be made available to early purchasers of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, netting them a special Pikachu that knows Fly.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are available now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
