Though Gible has been part of the PokeWorld since Generation IV, Pokemon Sword and Shield players haven't had the opportunity to officially capture one until very recently. The Crown Tundra DLC pack brings this earthy dragon over from Sinnoh to Galar, allowing players to finally find one in the wild again.

One of the main issues fans expressed when Pokemon Sword and Shield was released was an odd lack of Pokemon. Dataminers were quick to point out that the game seemed to feature an alarmingly small selection of Pokemon, considering the franchise's 700+ original monsters.

Pokemon Trainers have since realized that this was a strategic move on Nintendo's part, in anticipation of the game's impressive two-part Expansion Pass. Isle of Armor, the first part of the Sword and Shield DLC Expansion Pass, was released earlier this summer and featured an entirely new sector of Galar for players to explore. This DLC also stood out for reintroducing a large list of beloved Pokemon that were previously missing from Sword and Shield, like the Kanto Starter Pokemon, for example. The Crown Tundra has followed suit, and brings another wave of Pokemon over into the Galar wilderness, one of which is the ever-popular Gible.

Gible is the stub-like Dragon/Ground-type Pokemon that eventually evolves into Garchomp, the kaiju-esque beast commonly seen together with Sinnoh Champion, Cynthia. This Pokemon is arguably as popular as it is powerful, so naturally, Trainers have been eager to get their hands on one since Crown Tundra's recent release.

Thankfully, there aren't particularly many hoops to jump through to get Gible in Sword and Shield, though it doesn't appear until a bit further down the Crown Tundra road. First and foremost, players should be aware of the fact that Gible only appears in the wilds of Pokemon Shield. Sword players will have to trade. That said, the only location inhabited by Gible in Galar seems to be the "Tunnel to the Top" found in The Crown Tundra.

This series of caverns is found just ahead of the Snowslide Slope, which also functions as the path to the region's northernmost point: the Crown Shrine. It is the small area of caves located directly in between the Crown Shrine and Snowslide Slope. Once at the Tunnel to the Top, players should simply observe Wild Pokemon until they come across a Gible. Its spawn rate is only 10 percent, but the only other Pokemon found in this tunnel are Zubat, Carbink, Snorunt, Clefairy, and Audino, so it shouldn't take too long to spot a Gible. If playing Pokemon Sword, players can certainly still visit the Tunnel to the Top, but instead of burrowing Gible, they'll find hard-headed Bagon occasionally popping in.

Pokemon Sword and Shield, and the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra DLC Expansion Passes, are available for purchase now on Switch.
