Pokemon Squishmallow plush toys have proven to be quite popular, and now Snorlax and Togepi are getting their own renditions. The two Pokemon join an existing line that's turned Pikachu and Gengar into soft, round, squishy companions.

It was recently rumored that Pokemon Squishmallows were being recalled from stores, but it was discovered that wasn't actually the case. The popular plush toys seem to be here to stay, though fans can't always find them for purchase due to their popularity.

Now, Snorlax and Togepi are joining the gang with new pictures revealed of the upcoming plush toys. Like with prior Squishmallows and some other special Pokemon merchandise, these will first be available exclusively through the official Pokemon Center stores. After a limited exclusivity period, they will then move on to being available through Target, albeit with slight alterations to set the two versions apart. The Pokemon Center version has a small Pokeball patch on it, located on the back of the plush.

Squishmallows have seen quite a bit of popularity on their own, even prior to the partnership with The Pokemon Company. It's not a huge surprise that the Pokemon releases have been a big hit, especially since they started out with two of the most popular Pokemon to come out of Gen 1. While most plush toys try to represent a Pokemon's appearance as faithfully as possible, many find the round shape and simplified designs of the Squishmallow Pokemon charming.

Those who have been holding out for a specific Pokemon Squishmallow may be pleased to hear that even more are planned for the future. The same source has confirmed that Piplup, Clefairy, Teddiursa, and a special winking Pikachu are going to join the Squishmallow line. According to the report, Clefairy and Teddiursa are set to release on March 15, with the winking Pikachu and Piplup launching October 15. All of them should be made available at Target, though other retailers may also be added to the list.

Of course, Squishmallow isn't the only type of Pokemon plush out there. There have been countless plush toys developed over the years based off of the ever-increasing number of Pokemon. This includes Pokemon Build-a-Bear plush toys that can be customized with unique clothing and audio recordings. And for those who just can't get enough of their favorites, giant life-size plushes of some Pokemon have been created, and even Gengar and Snorlax creations that fans can sleep on.
