Leveling up Pokemon in Pokemon Sleep is required if players wish to have a more effective helper in their sleeping research. Various new skills will be unlocked with higher levels, which will grant new ingredients or better skills.

For instance, the player’s first companion, Pikachu, has a skill that increases Snorlax’s strength by 400. While this number may seem minor, it can be a great help if it triggers when the sleeping Pokemon is close to leveling up. Later on, the trigger rate for this ability will be boosted if the Pikachu reaches level 10. Then, at level 12, the Electric creature increases the number of items it can carry by 12, which will speed up the gathering process and eventually improve the leveling up journey for Snorlax. New ingredients will also be unlocked along with higher levels. For example, Pikachu can scavenge Ginger along with Apple after reaching level 30. Better Berry finding skill is also available at the high level of 75.

To level up Pokemon in Pokemon Sleep, players can either leave the Pokemon in their team and let it grow naturally, or do it manually using the Level Up button that’s available in the Pokemon’s information page.

However, this button only becomes available after players discover at least seven sleeping styles. Once this target is reached, the game will immediately notify that a Goal has been completed, and it will unlock a tutorial from Professor Neroli.

The Pokemon Level Up page can be accessed by doing the following steps:

  • Press the Pokemon button in the bottom left corner.
  • Choose Pokemon Box between the two options.
  • Pick the Pokemon that players wish to see complete information on.
  • Press the Level Up button under the Pokemon’s EXP bar (next to the Evolve button).

Afterward, players can spend Pokemon Candy and Dream Shards that they have to speed up the improvement process. Of course, the number of items required will gradually increase along with the Pokemon’s level. For instance, boosting a level five Pikachu requires 30 Dream Shards and one Pikachu Candy to increase 25 EXP, but after hitting level six, the same amount of EXP demands 34 Dream Shards.

Pokemon Candy can be obtained from various sources like collecting it from the Pokemon helper, discovering sleep styles from sleeping Pokemons that appear around Snorlax after each sleeping section, or exchanging Handy Candy for a specific Pokemon Candy. Meanwhile, Dream Shard can be obtained from similar sources like sleeping, upgrading Snorlax, completing missions, or exchanging Dream Cluster.

Pokemon Sleep is available now for mobile devices.
