  • Pokemon Sleep is a game that focuses on tracking players' sleep routines and allows them to collect and interact with Pokemon.
  • Sleep Score is calculated based on the amount of time players actually sleep, and it determines the number of Pokemon they can research and the rarity of Pokemon that appear.
  • Consistency in sleep schedule, taking naps, putting the device on the mattress, and using earphones or earplugs can help improve sleep quality and increase Sleep Score in the game.

As evident by its name, Pokemon Sleep is a game focusing on players' sleep routines and acts as a sleep tracker, while also allowing players to collect Pokemon and interact with them in certain ways. With that, Pokemon Sleep will be calculating the amount of time players will be actually sleeping, and based on it, assess a score called Sleep Score, which is then used to calculate Drowsy Power in combination with the Snorlax Strength to determine how many Pokemon players will be able to research for the next session. Having a high Sleep Score can also allow for more rare Pokemon to appear, giving more dream shards. Additionally, the Sleep Score is then converted to Sleep Points, which can be used to redeem multiple essential items for players to have the most efficiency out of the game.

The maximum amount of Sleep Score players can obtain is 100, which is based on a total of 8 hours and 30 minutes of sleep time. However, consistently being able to sleep for such long durations may be challenging for many players, especially when a lot of external factors are considered. Luckily, the sleeping type is not a factor that determines the score. However, there are some tips players can implement to get their score as high as possible.

7 Keep Up The Sleeping Time Consistency

One thing players can do to ensure they are getting a good amount of sleep is being consistent with the times they go to bed, especially since the game also rewards this. As such, players can calculate a bedtime based on the time they need to wake up to get around 8 hours of sleep if possible.

Essentially, players can set a target bedtime for their sleep routine and start going to bed 30 minutes before it for the sleep duration to be calculated earlier. This way, players can consistently reach a higher score, as long as their sleep is not interrupted or delayed in some way.

6 Have A Nap

For players who are not able to sleep for over 8 hours in one session, having a nap whenever possible can be another solution, since players are able to record multiple sleep sessions per day. Nevertheless, it's important to note that these naps cannot be power naps, as the game requires at least 90 minutes of tracked sleep time for it to be counted.

When players sleep for the duration in multiple sessions, the Drowsy power is also calculated separately, allowing players to meet new Pokemon. However, it's important to note that the Free Biscuits have to be used in the first session as they won't be received for the second cycle. If players have slept over 8 hours and 30 minutes, the rest of the score also won't be counted.

5 Put The Device On The Mattress

Pokemon Sleep tracks the players' sleep by sound and movements. As such, if there is too much movement or too little movement, it may consider this period as untracked time. By putting the device on the mattress, instead of a hard surface like the floor or a nightstand, players can mitigate potentially having untracked time due to no movements. It is also recommended that the device is not very far away, or under a blanket or pillow to mitigate hazards.

4 Pay Attention To The Untracked Time

Sometimes, players may have gone to sleep on time and woke up at the desired hour; however, they may notice that their counted time is significantly lower. While the sleep sounds and movements are both recorded, the sleep score is entirely determined by the accelerometer and, as such, by the amount of movement. The sound recording, on the other hand, is not only to allow players to hear back the recording but also to determine the sleep style.

If players are noticing a significant amount of untracked time, they might want to look into why that may be by listening to the recording as well. Especially if players share the bed with others, including pets, this may create situations of too much movement, which may be a reason why and players may discover a solution to mitigate this by doing so.

3 Use Earphones or Earplugs

If players need to sleep in a relatively loud environment or otherwise go to bed earlier than the rest of the household, they may take longer to fall asleep than they should, which also reduces their sleep score. Using earphones to listen to music in order to fall asleep or otherwise simply using earplugs to mitigate sounds can be a good way to increase overall sleep quality. Additionally, this will also allow the devices to record solely the sleep sounds, instead of music mixing in, which can help them track this aspect more effectively

2 Use Pokemon Go Plus If Available

While it is not essentially recommended to spend additional money to go ahead and purchase Pokemon Go Plus, especially if players are not playing Pokemon Go as well, if they already have one, it might be a better way to track sleep in comparison to using the mobile device. This is because many players may not enjoy having their phone right beside them when sleeping, especially when it needs to be charged to ensure it is still recording the sleep.

On the other hand, Pokemon Go Plus has a longer battery duration upon a single charge since it has much fewer purposes than a phone, which drains battery with many other external factors. Additionally, those who essentially enjoy checking their phone often can also benefit more from this since they may get away with some additional movement, as opposed to lifting the phone to check it each time while trying to sleep.

1 Manually Record Time

While manually recording the time won't give the same results, players may at least want to add this, especially if they have had some untracked time while they were asleep. It's important to note, however, that if this is done, players won't be able to do sleep research, but they will still get some small rewards. Premium pass members, on the other hand, even get more benefits, as they will be able to at least get the sleep score converted to points, allowing them to purchase items even though they won't be able to meet new Pokemon for the sleep cycle.
