Pokemon Sleep is Niantic's new big release, and it is extremely different from any other title released by the company. Pokemon Sleep does not require players to actively keep playing to increase their rank or to fill their Pokedex. All players have to do is sleep properly and make sure that Snorlax is well fed.
To take care of Snorlax, players need to make a Helper Team, which consists of five Pokemon. Choosing the right Pokemon can speed up the process. So it is better to level up Pokemon and evolve them. However, this requires candy, which can be obtained with the help of the Research Community. Many players are still unaware of its benefits, but there is no reason to worry as this guide covers this feature in depth.
What Is Research Community
Research Community can be found in the Main Menu. It basically revolves around adding friends, which can be done by clicking on the first button in the top right corner. Players can add up to 50 friends at one time, and it isn't an exaggeration to say that it greatly improves the playing experience. After adding friends, the game will automatically send the sleep reports to them.
Players can also limit the information that they want to share with their friends by clicking on Sharing Options in the bottom right corner of the Research Community page. This will bring up all the details that are shared after every sleep session. Players can turn off anything that they don't want to be shared.
Research Community Rewards
As previously stated, adding friends is extremely important in Pokemon Sleep. Every time a player receives a Research Update from others, they also obtain a Pokemon candy. The candy depends on what Pokemon the report is focused on.
As players continue to send updates to each other, the Closeness level also increases. With every passing level, players will receive a bonus item. The bonus items that players get are as follows.
- Level 1—Handy Candy S x1
- Level 2—Ingredient Assortment x1
- Level 3—Evolution Item
- Level 4—Ingredient Assortment x2
- Level 5—Handy Candy x2
Given the number of candies needed to level up and evolve a Pokemon, the Research Community is a blessing as it helps to obtain candies much quicker. There is a chance that more rewards will be added in the future, such as Skill Seeds, and Biscuits, but so far there have been no updates.
Pokemon Sleep is available on Android and iOS.
