A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player created their rendition of what a Paradox form of Skarmory would look like. The fan then posted their finished artwork on social media, where other Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players praised them for their effort. Some fans also pondered why The Pokemon Company has not given Skarmory a particular battle form in any Pokemon game at the time of writing.

Known as the Armor Bird Pokemon, Skarmory is a Steel and Flying dual-type Pokemon that initially debuted in Pokemon Silver for the Game Boy as a version-exclusive Pokemon. With Fire-type and Electric-type attacks as their only weaknesses and a high defense stat, Skarmory has seen use in past Pokemon games as a physical wall against Pokemon with high attack stats. However, Skarmory's move pool is limited to moves such as Steel Wing and Drill Peck, as well as field hazards such as Spikes and Stealth Rock, which limited its use in previous Pokemon generations. Though Skarmory is currently not available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, only time will tell if it will return to the games in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC. In the meantime, one Pokemon fan took it upon themselves to give the Armor Bird Pokemon a new look for the ninth generation.

On Reddit, a user named Delta1Dan created a Paradox form for Skarmory if it existed in Pokemon Scarlet, and posted their work on the r/pokemon subreddit. While other fan creations gave Skarmory forms such as a baby form, Delta1Dan gave their creation more prehistoric features to set it apart from its official depictions. To start, the artist granted Paradox Skarmory a pair of demonic wings, with the inside of the wings featuring red feathers similar to sharp blades. In addition, the face and neck of Skarmory were covered in additional layers of steel, and the tail was extended to include two curved blades on the end. Though Delta1Dan did not change Skarmory's typing, their depiction of the Armor Bird Pokemon earned them over 1,000 upvotes on the subreddit.

Paradox Skarmory was not given a name by Delta1Dan at the time of writing, so other users in the comments chimed in with potential names for it. One user replied with the name "Scarlet Wings" for Paradox Skarmory, and Delta1Dan stated that it was appropriate considering Pokemon Scarlet's Paradox forms have prehistoric appearances. Whether Skarmory or other deserving Pokemon will get Paradox forms in the future remains to be seen.

As for the games, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were updated to version 1.3.0 in an effort to address more issues with the games. While the DLC for the games is still months away, trainers may hopefully see Skarmory soar the skies of the Pokemon world again someday.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
