Hot on the heels of Nintendo's announcement of a new free Pokemon game for the Nintendo Switch, Pokemon's official twitter account announced more news would be arriving on June 24th. Pokemon fans around the net responded with a deluge of tweets requesting a remake of the Sinnoh region, which hosted Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.
Pokemon fans have been treated to a deluge of news about their favorite franchise, but it is difficult to please everyone in such a large and devoted fanbase. The Pokemon Company concluded its new Pokemon Presents event by announcing more information on other projects would arrive on June 24th, leading many to speculate that Pokemon Let's Go Gold and Silver might be coming soon. But many fans on Twitter seem to have different priorities, requesting a remake of the game's much beloved fourth generation titles, set in the Sinnoh Region.
Even though a return to the Johto region seems like a safer bet, Sinnoh began to trend on Twitter as trainers eagerly expressed their wishes to revisit their fourth generation stomping grounds. Fans have been particularly passionate about these installments, and have found interesting ways to express their love.  Diamond and Pearl marked a turning point for the series in many respects, featuring the first 3-dimensional rendering of the game's over world, and the first distinction between physical and special moves, rather than mere type tags.
This isn't the first time people have speculated about new versions of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. While there is very little hard information about the rumored titles, an announcement seems like it will come eventually. Not all Pokemon fans are eager to see the Sinnoh games adapted, however.
Reactions to the most recent generation, set in the Britain-inspired Galar region, have been mixed, and fans worry that disliked features will make the jump to the fourth generation remakes. Many players have praised the remastered battle mechanics debuted in Pokemon Sword and Shield while others vented their frustrations about the mandatory XP Share feature, and omissions from the franchise's sprawling Pokedex.
Another divisive eighth generation issue is DLC. Many trainers welcomed the steady stream of updates and seem to prefer the expansion pass format over same-generation, direct sequels like Ultra Sun and Moon. While frequent DLC provides Nintendo with opportunities to correct a lackluster launch, many fans feel that such an approach nickles and dimes players, or could be used to justify shipping incomplete experiences.
