In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's The Teal Mask DLC, players will visit the new region of Kitakami, located not too far away from Paldea. There are hundreds of returning Pokemon that didn't make their way into the Paldean Pokedex, and even some special Pokemon that aren't available in any Scarlet/Violet Pokedex just yet.
Players seeking out as many Pokemon as possible in The Teal Mask should take it upon themselves to visit the biology professor from Uva/Naranja Academy, Mr. Jacq. He'll be hanging out near a tree just next to the east side of the bridge leading into Mossui Town, heading towards Reveler's Road. If he's not there, make some progress in the main story and then return.
Where to Find Jacq in The Teal Mask
The professor's location can be seen on the map above (and in the video guide below). Once players have a chat with him, he will give them a mysterious egg. If players don't have room in their party for an extra Pokemon, make sure to grab the egg from the storage box and put it on the team. Pokemon eggs can only hatch if players keep them in their party and travel a long distance.
It's worth noting that the Pokemon egg can still hatch even if players are traveling the region atop Miraidon or Koraidon . The egg should only hatch in a few minutes if moving around this way.
What's Inside of Jacq's Egg?
As for what's inside Professor Jacq's egg, it's actually a random toss-up between one of the three starter Pokemon from the Sinnoh region: the Fire-type Chimchar, the Grass-type Turtwig, and the Water-type Piplup. Players will only have one chance to get these Pokemon in The Teal Mask, as there are no other eggs out there to find, and these Pokemon will not spawn in the wild. - Turtwig will evolve into Grotle at level 18 and Torterra at level 32.
- Piplup evolves into Prinplup at level 16 and then Empoleon at level 36.
- Chimchar evolves into Monferno at level 14 and then Infernape at level 36.
