Pokemon Scarlet and Violet receive a new trailer just days ahead of launch, set to the theme song of Ed Sheeran's Celestia. The trailer gives a broad overview of the region and many of the characters players will meet, while finally teasing the addition of Paradox Pokemon.

Indeed, neither Game Freak nor The Pokemon Company has been particularly giving this year with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailers. They have been few and far between, so it stands to reason this is the last major trailer ahead of release. It doesn't give fans much more than they had before, but the tease of Paradox Pokemon is no doubt exciting.

The trailer briefly shows the Paradox forms of Donphan, both Ancient and Past. They seem huge in comparison to normal Pokemon, though this could just be for dramatic Effect. This trailer also confirms the first post-launch Tera Raid for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is an Evee-based event, with a Charizard with the Dragon Tera type to follow. This no doubt excites fans of Charizard, though some feel like Game Freak and The Pokemon Company overuse the beloved first-gen starter. Either way, it'll be interesting to experience.

According to Serebii, the name of the Ancient Donphan is Great Tusk and Future Donphan is Iron Treads. These are no doubt unusual names for Pokemon, but given how Paradox Pokemon are meant to be unusual additions, it adds up. Paradox Pokemon have something to do with time distortion, with Ancient Paradox being exclusive to Pokemon Scarlet and Future Paradox being exclusive to Pokemon Violet. According to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet leaks about Paradox Pokemon, there are 7 per game.

It's not impossible for the companies to show off more in the coming days, but with ten days to go before the games' release date, it does seem unlikely. Between this and the recently revealed Pokemon Scarlet and Violet grand overview trailer, it seems that this is all they're going to show. A heavy last ten days isn't impossible, but it does seem improbable. In fact, nothing more could have been shown of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and they would still sell like hotcakes. If nothing else, the limited marketing proves just how powerful and popular the Pokemon franchise is.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release on November 18 for Nintendo Switch.
