A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player shared a unique moment where they beat Tera Typhlosion with just one hit using Magikarp. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Tera Raids have kept players engaged months after the release of Gen 9, offering a similar type of challenge to Pokemon GO's Raids.

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raids consist of more challenging battles than the standard battles in Gen 9. In these Raids, four players gather together to face a wild Tera Pokemon, which remains Terastillized until it takes enough damage. If players successfully beat the Raid, they can capture the Tera Raid Pokemon. The featured Pokemon in a Tera Raid is a more powerful variant than its original counterpart and will use stronger attacks and strategies to defeat the players. Because of this, it has become a habit for players to debate strategies to take on the Tera Raid Pokemon.

The latest 7-star Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet features Typhlosion the Unrivaled. Reddit user Nommable123 took up the challenge and shared the clip where they one-shot Tera Typhlosion with Magikarp. The strategy consists of a team with Sylveon, Samurott, Luxray, and Magikarp. Luxray improves survivability with Intimidate and Eerie Impulse and increases Magikarp's attack with Swagger. Samurott reduces Typhlosion's defenses with Screech, and Sylveon increases Magikarp's attack with Attack Cheer, Helping Hand, and Pixilate. The final part of the strategy sees Samurott using False Swipe and reducing Magikarp's health to 1. With this, Magikarp's low HP tremendously boosts Flail's effectiveness.

Players are always sharing strategies for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Tera Raids, but the clip from Nommable123 gained the community's attention for its unusual moment. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet subreddit users found the video funny, and some praised the strategy put together by Nommable123, which makes an unlikely Pokemon take the spotlight. Other users also commented that the patience of Nommable123's teammates for this amount of preparation was commendable. One user questioned how Magikarp survived for so long when even bulkier Pokemon are knocked out with relative ease in 7-star Tera Raids.

Previously Nommable123 shared another strategy for one-shot Tera Typhlosion, but this one used a different team than the current one. With the next Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid announced, the expectation is that the community will again create different strategies to beat the next Tera Pokemon. Consequently, these creative strategies increase the chance of the Pokemon community sharing other fun moments, such as the clip from Nommable123.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
