Pokemon Scarlet and Violet recently received its third trailer, injecting new life into the fandom that's already abuzz and waiting for more. The latest trailer showed off three new Pokemon, revealed the region name, and gave a hint as to one of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's storylines: the Treasure Hunt. There are three major storylines at play, but exactly what ties in where remains to be seen.

For example, it seems likely one of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's storylines ties deeply into time travel. That's clearly a theme for the new games, especially given Professor Sada in Pokemon Scarlet represents the past (Sada is short for pasada, which is Spanish for past) and Professor Turo in Pokemon Violet represents the future (Turo is short for Futuro, which is obviously Spanish for future). Furthermore, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's box legendaries represent the past and future in terms of design and name, with Korai- meaning past and Mirai- meaning future.

Riddler Khu, a reliable (though now "retired) leaker in the Pokemon community, has previously commented on the relationship between Sada and Turo, comparing it to the Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock movie The Lake House, where two people fall in love by exchanging letters in a time-traveling mailbox. It remains to be seen how fully these two relationships connect, but there is seemingly a twist with these two not seen in The Lake House. Apparently, somehow, Sada and Turo conceive a child.

Arven is an upperclassman at the Academy in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, someone who shares a love for cooking more than battling. Khu recently shared an image showing how much Arwen looks like Professors Sada and Turo. He has Turo's eyebrows and Sada's unique eye color, with his hair being a mix of theirs. Without much more to go on, this only adds more mystery to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's overarching storylines.

As it stands, this could represent the three storylines players will see in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This is only speculation, but the gym challenge is likely one story, the treasure hunt could be another story, and then time-travel related to Sada, Turo, and Arwen could be the third. Fans will just have to wait and see, although each passing day brings them closer to the next generation's release.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release November 18 for Nintendo Switch.
