Since the games were first revealed, hype has been steadily building for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Between aspects of the game such as its open world nature and cooperative multiplayer as well as the Pokemon revealed so far, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have a lot of Pokemon fans excited for the future.

Along with the cooperative multiplayer, a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer also revealed the release date, confirming the release to be on Friday, November 18 of 2022. This means that, regardless of any further information being revealed, fans will not have to wait all that long before the games' release.

This has fans of the game anxious and excited, and in typical Pokefan fashion, many have taken to designing potential Pokemon that could appear in the games. One fan dedicated a piece to designing a shiny version of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Pawmi, offering 3 possible variants for the Pokemon. Many other fans have created theoretical evolutions for the Pokemon released, with one fan recently dedicating a piece to Smoliv and its potential evolution.

Reddit user LaundyLady posted art to the site that displays a potential evolution for the tiny olive Pokemon; sporting olives for hands and a head, a grassy dress, and an olive branch that wraps around its head, the unnamed evolution certainly keeps the olive theme going from its smaller counterpart. Like another fan-made Pokemon Scarlet and Violet evolution for Lechonk, LaundyLady took the original Pokemon and greatly added to its original theme, in this case choosing to go all-out on the olive aspect. The assumption could be made that this Pokemon could be Smoliv's final evolution in a 3-Pokemon line due to the large amount of differences between the two.

LaundyLady's design choice also takes Smoliv in a much more grass-themed direction than what is seen with other fans' theories. For example, on prevailing theory is that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Smoliv will be the first grass-fire evolutionary line; this is primarily believed because of the connection between olives and oil/cooking as well as the fact Smoliv has been revealed to be a grass/normal type. In Pokemon, Gloom and Bellossom stand alone as the only instance of a dual-type Pokemon losing a type without it being replaced; this has led fans to theorize that, because Smoliv holds the normal typing, that type will eventually be replaced by another, more unique type.

Whether that type will be fire or not is unclear; LaundyLady does not specify the typing of her drawing, but it looks to be a pure grass type. Perhaps Smoliv will retain the normal typing throughout its evolutions, but until November, fans will be left to hope of the series' first grass/fire type.
