The third seven-star Tera Raid Event for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is set to occur soon. If previous raids were anything to go by, this limited event will make a new critter obtainable in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. When Pokemon Scarlet and Violet first introduced seven-star raids with the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Charizard Tera Raid Event, it very quickly set a precedent. While six-star raids are excellent for farming Herba Mystica, seven-stars give players the opportunity to obtain a Pokemon that is not part of the original Paldean Pokedex and cannot otherwise be obtained without trading. With two seven-star events having occurred thus far, the third is set to follow in their footsteps.RELATED: Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Player Finds Hidden Cave in Area ZeroThe third seven-star Tera Raid Event will begin at 00:00 UTC, January 27th 2023, and run until 23:59 UTC, January 29th. It will then run for a second time beginning at midnight on February 10th through to February 12th, 23:59 UTC. Though many might have expected so after the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Cinderace Tera Raid Event, it will not be yet another Fire-type Pokemon. The raid boss itself is yet to be revealed, almost certainly being a creature yet to make its first appearance in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but it will possess the Poison Tera-type. It has also been confirmed that the Pokemon will have the Mightiest Mark, meaning it can only be caught once per save file.

With players speculating as to why the identity of the next seven-star boss is being hidden, many fans are expecting it to be none other than Greninja. The Pokemon has made a name for itself in recent years as one of the most popular starter Pokemon of all time, and also held a particularly prominent role in the anime as one of Ash's strongest companions. A recent remaster of Pokemon X and Y Legendary Themes observed in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's 1008 Encounters video also has some convinced the two games will overlap soon, and Greninja is by far the most popular starter in Pokemon X and Y. But while Greninja is the leading theory, it should be stressed that it could be a different Pokemon entirely, and fans won't know for sure until the official announcement comes.

While different players have varying views as to what the next seven-star boss will be, what they should know is it will almost certainly be a Pokemon otherwise unobtainable in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. As such, players should be sure to take note of the event's dates and pop down to the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Auction House to stock up on rare Poke Balls to catch the critter in.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
