Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is organizing its next 7-Star Tera Raid featuring Sceptile, and fans are quite curious to learn what are the best counters for it. While some raids are quite difficult to solo, this one is a bit easier to tackle as there are a variety of great Pokemon players can use.

Sceptile is considered one of the most popular Pokemon, thanks to its appearance and strong pure Grass-type moveset. It is a Generation 3 starter evolution, hailing from the Hoenn region. Sceptile was added in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet as part of the Indigo Disk DLC.

How To Unlock 7-Star Tera Raids

It is crucial to note that not everyone can participate in this event, and 7-Star Tera Raids are only available to players who meet a few requirements. Firstly, players will need to beat the base game as well as the Academy Ace Tournament. This will unlock 5-Star Raids, and once players have completed enough of those, 6-Star and 7-Star Raids should automatically get unlocked.

While Sceptile is a Grass-type Pokemon that is weak to Bug, Fire, Flying, Ice, and Poison types, this doesn't apply to this Tera Raid as it has a different Tera-type. Considering Sceptile is a Dragon Tera-type, it is weak to Dragon, Ice, and Fairy-type moves. Tera-types change the weakness and also add another offensive type for the same-type attack bonus.

Therefore, players need to be careful while choosing the team, as they need to make sure they choose types that are not weak to both Dragon and Grass types, as it can easily put them in a tough situation.

Best Solo Counters For Mighty Unrivaled Sceptile

Thankfully, there are several counters that players can use for Sceptile. The fact that Fairy-types are immune to Dragon-type moves is something players should try to capitalize on. Here are the best counters for Sceptile. A reliable counter is Magearna, but considering that it is extremely hard to get that Pokemon, and it is not available in Scarletand Violet, it has been omitted.

All the following counters can be used solo.

Clefable

Clefable is by far the most powerful counter for Sceptile, thanks to its Fairy-type and tanky nature. Firstly, players need to get hold of the Shell Bell, which restores 12.5% of the damage they deal on Sceptile. Clefable's ability should be Unaware, and players should use the moveset Protect, Moonblast, and Calm Mind.

Protect should help players when abilities are reset.
Calm Mind should be used to ramp up their attributes after stats are reset.
Once players are ready to terastalize, all they need to do is use Mooonblast and they should be able to take down Sceptile in no time.

Azumarill

Azumarill is such a versatile Pokemon that players can use it for literally any 7-Star Tera Raid, and it will give them a pretty good edge. Once again, players should use Shell Bell along with the moveset Play Rough, Charm, Defense Curl, and Belly Drum.

Players can use Charm and Defense Curl to withstand Sceptile's attacks.
Once they are close to terastalizing, they should follow up with Belly Drum and Play Rough.

Skeledirge

Skeledirge is another great Pokemon for this raid, thanks to its unique Fire and Ghost-type. For Skeledirge, players should use the moveset Alluring Voice, Protect, Slack Off, and Torch Song. The trick here is to survive with Slack Off and Protect until the stats are reset, and then simply use Torch Song multiple times to deal damage as well as raise stats.

Shell Bell is going to be crucial here as well. Last but not least, once players have used Torch Song a few times, they can simply terastalize and finish things off Alluring Voice.

Can Sceptile Be Shiny In 7-Star Tera Raid?

No, 7-Star Tera Raids are shiny locked so players can't get a shiny here. However, they can still get one by heading to the Blueberry Academy and finding a Treecko in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
