Pokemon Scarlet and Violet announced its Ranked Battle Series 2 is coming soon, and it brings along with it a very interesting change that is sure to affect the way players approach these ranked battles. Ranked Battle Series 1, which ran from December 2nd to January 4th, just came to a close and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players are already waiting in anticipation for the next series to get started.

As with any main series Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet come with version exclusives, or Pokemon that are only available in either game, but not both. So, as usual, the Pokemon community comes together in a show of unity. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players create a network of trade codes that fully streamlines the process of getting version exclusive Pokemon for players that only own one game or the other. This network will be even more vital now, thanks to the new addition to the Ranked Battle Series 2 coming soon.

Serebii posts on Twitter that the Ranked Battle Series 2 has been announced for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and will run from February 1st to March 31st. The new addition this time is that the Ranked Battles will allow for the use of Paradox Pokemon. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Paradox Pokemon are version exclusives that are difficult to battle and catch. Now, players will be able to use them in their ranked battling during the second series of ranked battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Paradox Pokemon are alternatively typed futuristic (Pokemon Violet) or ancient (Pokemon Scarlet) Pokemon that resemble modern Pokemon, like Iron Hands, for example. In the lore, they are thought to be the previous evolutions of modern Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet or the eventual evolutions of modern Pokemon in Pokemon Violet.

Ever since Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were released, fans have been loving the concept of Paradox Pokemon and are even making their own artwork that imagines Paradox forms of all their favorite Pokemon. For example, one Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fan created a design for a Paradox Hitmontop. So, including these Paradox Pokemon in the next Ranked Battle Series will likely be a popular move with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans.

With the addition of Paradox Pokemon to the Ranked Battle Series, there are sure to be new strategies and tactics being implemented for players to gain the upper hand in these tough battles.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for the Nintendo Switch.
