The Fake Leaks of Quaxly's Evolutionary Line

With generation 9 of Pokemon, gamers were treated to Quaxly as their water-type starter. The duckling, with its white feathers and blue hairdo, has a design that bursts with character. From the moment the starters were revealed, gamers were ready to see what the adorable trio evolves into. According to a popular fan theory, Water-type starters evolve into some kind of weapon, and this had fans speculating about what kind of weapon Quaxly might turn into.

Some leakers claimed to have the names of Quaxly's evolutions, with the duckling's middle evolution going by Quaffure, and the final evolution being called Quaxelence. Although Quaxelence is an admittedly cool name, it is far from accurate. Some leaks featured designs of Quaxly's evolutions, which isn't too hard to do with modern image editing tools. One of the leaks that gained traction featured Quaxly as a sailor, with its blue tuft turned into a sailor's hat. Another leak seemed to keep with the fan theory of Water-types being themed after weapons and featured a large white-feathered bird with a shank-like blade hidden in one of its wings.

In reality, Quaxley evolves into Quaxwell, who has white and blue feathers. The final evolution is Quaquaval, the dancing duck. It is covered by mostly dark blue feathered and is a Water/Fighting dual-type creature. Its design has duck and peacock elements, with an overall carnival theme. The Pokemon stands out thanks to its signature move, Aqua Step, which has a base power of 80 and raises the user's speed stat by a single level.

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Leaks That Got It Right

Although there was a flood of fake leaks, some leaks happened to be extremely accurate. This includes Scarlet and Violet leaks from Riddler Khu, who is a prominent figure in the Pokemon community. Near the release of the games, a very blurry image of a blue head with a bit of red appeared online, with the leaker claiming it is an image of Quaxly's final evolution. The leak got the thumbs up from Riddler Khu, and it turns out the leak was very correct, as Quaquaval does have a blue head and red feathers that look like large eyebrows.

A few days before the release of the new games, the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet leaks came hard and fast and this time they were much more believable because they seemed to be coming from copies that had managed to get out in the wild early. With these leaks, gamers finally got a glimpse of Quaxly's evolutions, allowing players to judge for themselves whether they want to take it with them on their journey through Paldea.

Thanks to Quaquaval's Aqua Step, it is a lethal Pokemon to have on one's team. Within a few turns, players can control the speed of a match, which can be the deciding variable in many matchups. For gamers who love water-type Pokemon, Quaxly is an excellent starter that compares well to prior starters of the same type.
