No matter what direction the next Pokemon game goes in, each game has always begun with grass, fire, and water-type starters. It's become the norm that whenever the next generation is revealed, it most certainly always comes with the knowledge of what starters there are for fans to pick. With the announcement of Pokemon Starlet and Violet, the water starter Quaxly is getting attention for looking similar to Donald Duck.As many eagle-eyed fans should know, carefully watching how other fans react on social media can quickly tell which of the new Pokemon starters will be the fan-favorite. This was evident with Scorbunny of Sword and Shield, whose trainers were fittingly passionate about the soccer-inspired rabbit from the first trailer. Now there's a chance the new favorite may end up being Quaxly, who started trending on Twitter moments after the reveal of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.RELATED: Disturbing Pokemon Legends: Arceus Bug Leaves Munchlax With One EyeWhile Quaxly itself didn't trend on Twitter, fans could find "Pokemon" trending on the platform alongside "Donald Duck." It's understandable why Quaxly is described on the official website as the Duckling Pokemon, featuring the standard white-feather design for most duckling cartoon characters. However, the water-type starter also appears to be adorned with a blue hat made out of its own feathers that helps it resemble the Disney character.

Some fans may be unable to see the similarity that has fans laughing, but some quick and talented fans have gone ahead and made artwork based on what they see, giving Quaxly Donald Duck's sailor shirt in illustrations. It brings the similarity to even further light as other fans have taken to saying that Quaxly is where Donald went instead of following Sora into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

However, looks may end up being where the similarities end, as the Ducking Pokemon is described on the website as an "earnest and tidy" creature, which doesn't entirely mesh with how Donald Duck acts in most Disney media. Still, the fate for the duck may already be sealed as these comparisons have also helped it stand out among the other starters, so it would make sense if many trainers pick Quaxly and nickname it Donald once they begin playing later this year.

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet are scheduled to release in late 2022 for the Nintendo Switch.
