Pokemon Scarlet and Violet revealed a new trailer that showed past starter Pokemon will be coming in the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC. The trailer was shown at the conclusion of the 2023 Pokemon World Championships and revealed that these Pokemon can be caught in the wild, which will give Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players more options for building their teams.

The new trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's second DLC, The Indigo Disk, went into detail about some of the Pokemon that players will encounter when it goes live in the winter. The trailer also revealed the types for Raging Bolt and Iron Crown, the version-exclusive Paradox forms of Raikou and Cobalion, as Electric/Dragon for the former and Steel/Psychic for the latter. In addition, the trailer revealed new signature moves for those Pokemon, as well as new moves for specific Pokemon. One of these moves is a Psychic-type attack called Psychic Noise that prevents healing and can be used by Pokemon such as Gardevoir. However, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans that wanted to catch their favorite starter from past generations will have the chance, as well.

In The Indigo Disk DLC, all past starter Pokemon that were not previously obtainable in the base game will be catchable in the wild, and not necessarily from Tera Raid dens. From Bulbasaur to Sobble, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will be able to add all of the starters to their collections when The Indigo Disk launches in Winter 2023. At the time of writing, only the final evolutions of some previous starter Pokemon could be caught from seven-star Tera Raid battles. These Pokemon were Charizard, Typhlosion, Samurott, Chesnaught, Delphox, Greninja, Decidueye, Rillaboom, Cinderace, and Inteleon. Previous forms of these Pokemon could be also obtained via breeding or transferring from Pokemon Home.

The outstanding starter Pokemon will also be added to the growing list of critters that can be transferred from Pokemon Home to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in a future update. Pokemon trainers that have been waiting to use starters such as Totodile and Torchic will soon get their chance, as both The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk will have new Pokemon in addition to the returning ones. It remains to be seen how many more Pokemon from past generations will be available in the wild once the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is fully released.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players may not yet be done with receiving more information in August. Recently, some influencers received a package from Pokemon with the date of August 22 on it. Only time will tell what awaits Pokemon fans on that day.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
