A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fan shared art with paradoxical forms for Beedrill and Butterfree. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced players to Generation 9, which brought a new region, classic and new Pokemon, and new gimmicks.

Among the main new features of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are the Paradox Pokemon. These Pokemon were brought to the new Paldea region through a time machine, and are divided into two groups. The Pokemon brought from the past (Past Paradox) have an ancient look, while the Pokemon brought from the future (Future Paradox) have a more modern look. This new feature has sparked the creativity of the Pokemon community to come up with several ideas, such as Unfezant, Bonsly, and Shuckle Paradox forms. Now one more fan has decided to create their own versions for Beedrill and Butterfree, two veteran monsters of the Pokemon franchise.

Reddit user EliteRobo04 shared fan art showing what it would look like if Beedrill and Butterfree had paradoxical forms. Named Crawling Dread, Beedrill has been given a yellow and red look with a slight sepia tone, reinforcing the fact that it is a Past Paradox Pokemon. Crawling Dread has an appearance based on an ancient wingless wasp and is a Bug/Ground-type, while Beedrill is a Bug/Poison-type. Despite this difference, both have one trait in common: the intimidating look can place them among the coolest Bug-Type Pokemon.

Butterfree reunited with Ash in the Pokemon anime after 25 years. The friendly little monster is a Bug/Flying-type that, unsurprisingly, looks like a butterfly. Its paradox form is from the future, where Butterfree transforms into the adorable Flying/Electric-type called Iron Flight. This form has a satellite-like body, with a modern look highlighted by cool colors. In a curious detail, according to the lore created by the artist, Iron Flight would be able to transmit signals from other galaxies and realities to Earth.

With over 1800 upvotes on the Pokemon subreddit, EliteRobo04's fanart has over 50 comments and compliments to the artist. The commenters liked the idea and suggested the artist create other paradoxical forms of Pokemon like Pinsir and Venomoth. Pokemon has some very interesting lore, and the Paradox Pokemon can add even more richness to the already broad universe of the franchise. It's the kind of feature with the potential to create an even more interesting and fun experience for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and potentially the next games in the franchise.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for the Nintendo Switch.
