Pokemon fans excited for the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC should keep an eye on August 22, as it's been teased that a new Pokemon could be revealed that day. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Teal Mask DLC is set to launch on September 13. And while it will mostly consist of returning Pokemon that were left out of the base Scarlet and Violet games, it will also feature a handful of brand-new Pokemon for Pokemon trainers to add to their collection.

At the time of this writing, five new Pokemon have been revealed for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Teal Mask DLC: Munkidori, Okidogi, Fezandipiti, Ogerpon, and most recently, the new Applin evolved form Dipplin. A reputable leaker has suggested that The Teal Mask DLC will ultimately add seven new Pokemon when it's all said and done. Assuming that information is accurate, there are still two new Pokemon left to be revealed for The Teal Mask DLC.

Now it seems that new Pokemon may have been teased at The Pokemon World Championships. According to ComicBook, The Pokemon Company has given out tea sets to media and influencers with "August 22, 2023" written on it. This seems to suggest that the next big reveal for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will take place on August 22, though it remains to be seen exactly what is being teased. However, the leading theory is that August 22 will be the day that a new Pokemon is revealed for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Teal Mask DLC.

Polteageist

It's worth pointing out that Pokemon with a tea theme already exist - Sinistea and Polteageist, both of which were introduced in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Considering this, it would make sense for the new Pokemon to be part of the Sinistea/Polteageist evolution line. ComicBook presents the possibility that the new Pokemon will be a "convergent" of Sinistea or Polteageist, which is also easy to believe.

For those who may be unfamiliar with the concept of convergent Pokemon, they were introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. They are effectively regional variants of existing Pokemon, but instead of being treated as the same Pokemon with a different name and type, they are categorized as brand-new creatures.

Ultimately, Pokemon fans will have to wait until August 22 to know for sure what exactly The Pokemon Company is teasing with these tea sets. In the meantime, they can prepare for The Teal Mask DLC by participating in the new Tera Raid Battles and redeeming codes for free Pokemon like Mew.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
