Shiny Pokemon have been a part of the core series for a long time now, though they're still often difficult to find in an average playthrough of the games. There are several methods that players have adopted over the years to help increase the likelihood of finding a Shiny Pokemon in the games. One method that was brought to the series with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are special sandwich making ingredients that boost the encounter rate with certain Shinies for a set amount of time. However, getting ahold of these ingredients isn't easy for every player, so this new Mystery Gift may be a big help.

The new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Mystery Gift Code lets players receive either a Sweet Herba Mystica or a Spicy Herba Mystica. Only one of these items can be redeemed per player with the code SWEET0RSP1CY. These particular items can be incorporated into sandwich recipes that increase the chance of Shiny Pokemon appearing. Generally, these ingredients can only be found in rare circumstances, like as a reward for a five or six-star Tera Raid. These raids can be quite difficult for new players, so this is an opportunity fans shouldn't miss.
This code will remain valid until September 30, 2024, so players don't have to rush to redeem it. With Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Indigo Disk DLC yet to release, some fans may want to hold onto the items to pursue specific Pokemon that will be added with the expansion. While Shiny Pokemon don't have any significant advantages over standard Pokemon, they're nonetheless exciting to add to one's roster, and players often strive to get Shiny variations of their favorite pocket monsters.
While finding a Shiny Pokemon still isn't an easy feat, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has given players the tools they need to vastly improve their chances. Players who complete the Paldea Pokedex can acquire the Shiny Charm, which inherently boosts players chances of finding a Shiny from 1/4096 to 1/1365.67. If combined with a Sparkling Power sandwich, that rate can be improved even further to 1/512.44. While it's not a guarantee that the player will find what they're looking for, these boosts can make a huge difference.
