Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have a new Mystery Gift code that they must redeem in the games by July 31. Like previous games in the Pokemon series, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet give players the opportunity to claim freebies by redeeming Mystery Gift codes. Most of the time these codes hook players up with helpful items, but sometimes they are a bit more substantial and give players access to Pokemon.

For instance, a recent Pokemon Scarlet and Violet code could have been redeemed for a shiny Arcanine. While the codes that get players a special Pokemon are the most exciting for fans, it's still a good idea to redeem the other codes that are released for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, with the latest giving players 50 Fighting Tera Shards.

Any Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players that want to get 50 Fighting Tera Shards for free will want to use the code TERATYPECHANGE. As previously mentioned, this Mystery Gift code will only be available until July 31, at which point it will expire and players will miss out on getting the free 50 Fighting Tera Shards for themselves. Players have a decent amount of time to boot up Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and redeem the code, but they may want to do so ASAP so they don't forget before the distribution event wraps up at the end of the month.

  • 50 Fighting Tera Shards - TERATYPECHANGE

For those unfamiliar with Tera Shards in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, they are an item that allow players to change a Pokemon's Tera Type. To do this, players need to deliver at least 50 Tera Shards to the Cook at the Treasure Eatery in Medali. Tera Types are a new concept introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that allow a Pokemon to temporarily take on the role of a different type. Tera Types are a huge part of the strategy in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and so being able to freely change one Pokemon's Tera Type to Fighting could be a big opportunity for some players.

Redeeming a code and getting 50 free Tera Shards is definitely the easiest way to get them in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but there are other methods as well. While it's possible to find Tera Shards while exploring Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's open world, the most common method is by defeating Tera Raid bosses.

Those who aren't excited about getting free Tera Shards in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet should note that this will not be the last distribution code released for the games. Fans can expect support for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to continue for some time to come, especially with The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC expansions on the way.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
