Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's trio event featuring the Kanto starters is nearing its end, with the last Pokemon featuring in this event being the fan-favorite Charizard.

While Charmander is available in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Indigo Disk DLC, only players boost the diversity of the Savannah biome; this raid is a special one. 7-Star Tera Raids are famous for their impressive rewards, with players getting a chance to accumulate tons of candies, Tera shards, ability patches, and whatnot. Not to forget, these events feature unique Pokemon with marks, which can only be obtained via these events. For players looking to catch Mighty Charizard in the game, here is what they need to know.

How to Unlock Charizard the Unrivaled Tera Raid

The Mighty Charizard Tera Raid concludes on March 17 at 4:59 PM PST, and considering that this is not region-based, players in other regions might have the event ending for them on the next day. Just like the other raids, Charizard can only be caught once in the event. That being said, the rewards can be obtained as many times as players want, so attempting the event again is worth it. Also, the event will be spawning in the Paldea region.

However, to catch Mighty Charizard players will need to first ensure 7-Star Tera Raids are available for them. This can be a bit tricky for new players as they need to first beat the game as well as the Academy Ace Tournament. That's not all, as players will also need to beat around ten 5-star Tera Raids to unlock 6-star Tera Raids, which in turn also unlocks these special events.

One of the biggest challenges for this is finding the 5-star Tera Raids, which can be quite difficult since there is no unique identifier to find them on the map. Thankfully, once players have explored and unlocked 7-Star Tera Raids, finding them is quite trivial as they have a unique appearance on the map.

Best Counters & Weaknesses for Mightiest Mark Charizard

Charizard probably has the most useful Tera type out of the three Pokemon, featuring a boost to its Dragon-type attacks. This means that an additional entry is added to the list of types that benefit from the STAB bonus. Precisely, players will get twice the amount of damage they would ideally get from Fire, Flying, and Dragon-type attacks. On top of that, the defensive type changes to Dragon, so players who usually rely on Water-types to take down Charizard should rely on Fairy, Dragon, and Ice-type moves instead.

Another crucial thing to note is its ability. Solar Power, which, when used in conjunction with Sunny Day, makes the Pokemon hit like a truck. However, the reduction in HP is something that can help the players significantly. Its possible moveset can be Dragon Pulse Focus Blast, Overheat, Fire Blast, Sunny Day, Inferno, Hurricane, and Tera Blast. Last but not least, players should not at all use Electric, Fire, Grass, and Water-type moves as they are quite ineffective against Mighty Charizard.

Best Pokemon to Use Against Dragon Tera Charizard

Players who have attempted the raid before might be well aware of the Flutter Mane strategy, which is considered by far one of the best Pokemon to counter Charizard. Being immune to Charizard's Dragon-type moves is something that easily makes it a really overpowered Pokemon to use. Not to forget, its Protosynthesis ability capitalizes on Charizard's Sunny Day strategy. While it is totally possible to use other Fairy, Dragon, and Ice-type Pokemon, Flutter Mane's type matchup, bundled with its impressive moveset, makes it a real no-brainer for this battle.

If not Flutter Mane, players can also rely on pure Fairy-types to take Charizard down. This includes the likes of Alcremie and Sylveon alongside ones with an additional Water type, such as Primarina and Azumarill. Azumarill is considered a really well-rounded Pokemon for Tera Raids, but for Mighty Charizard in particular, its resistance to Fire-type moves and immunity to Dragon-type moves can be a real game-changer. The good ol' Belly Drum strategy can work here as well, although players need to be wary of Charizard's Flying-type moves.
