Pokemon Scarlet and Violet recently received a new trailer at the closing ceremony of the Pokemon World Championships, but unfortunately for fans, it did not reveal too much. It showcased a new item for battle, as well as an impressive use of the Tera abilities. Essentially, in a battle between Tyranitar and Gallade, Tyranitar changed its type to ghost, avoiding damage from Gallade's Close Combat, and then used a Ghost-type Tera Blast to OHKO the Gallade. It was impressive, but it was short. And in this new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer, only one new Pokemon was revealed.

Cyclizar is a Dragon/Normal type and essentially a pre-evolution (or something) to Koraidon and Miraidon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It's clearly related to the box legendaries, thanks to the wheel embedded in its chest, but since Koraidon and Miraidon are Paradox Pokemon, the exact nature of their relationship is unknown. It's probably best to think of it as a pre-evolution for now until Game Freak reveals more details. Its Dragon/Normal typing also fits well with the rumored Dragon/Fighting and Dragon/Electric types for Koraidon and Miraidon, respectively.

But there is one more detail that closely connects Cyclizar to Koraidon and Miraidon, as pointed out by Twitter user AquaticPanic. Many have theorized, at least in concept, that Koraidon has something to do with Infrared lights and that Miraidon has something to do with Ultraviolet lights. Whether this is more than a color scheme theory remains to be seen, but based on that, one fan noted how Cyclizar's Axew-like color scheme actually falls in between these two colors.

This is an important detail and could very well tie into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's storyline. It's no secret that there are elements of time and time travel in the game, with there being Paradox Pokemon called Ancient Forms and Future Forms. Cyclizar exists in the present, and in some way, going back to Infrared likely highlights the paradoxical nature of Koraidon and going forward to Ultraviolet does the same for Miraidon.

One thing that has caught many fans' eyes, however, is how Cyclizar's official description suggests it has been around since ancient times, and there is clearly more than one Cyclizar in existence. Therefore, it's likely that it can only evolve/change/become Koraidon and Miraidon under certain conditions, but until Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's release date comes around, fans may have to wait to find out the exact nature of Cyclizar's relationship with Koraidon and Miraidon.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release on November 18 for Nintendo Switch.
