The latest in a long line of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet leaks focuses on the moves and abilities of the new entry. As many fans know, Game Freak and The Pokemon Company have not seemed particularly giving with this new generation. There's very little known about the games with just two months to go from launch.
Hopefully, the companies involved see fit to hit marketing hard in the coming weeks, but it remains to be seen. The lack of official information has seen fans turn to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet leaks, though there is a mixture of made-up rumors and leaks, speculation, and likely legitimate leaks available on the internet. Everything should be taken with a grain of salt, but for the most part, leakers like Riddler Khu and Kaka have proven reliable.
Kaka's recent Pokemon Scarlet and Violet leak focuses on moves and hidden abilities, with these being aggregated by accounts like Centro Leaks. According to Kaka, there are between 25 and 40 new abilities in the game. This number range may not be as impressive as it sounds though, as it seems some abilities are essentially being renamed. They are new abilities, but they do things abilities in previous generations already did. As far as moves though, it seems there will be between 50 and 65 new moves, which isn't a bad number.
It was also revealed that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's starters (Fuecoco, Quaxly, and Sprigatito) do not feature new abilities. They are all abilities found in previous gens, likely boosting their type advantages. It should be noted, however, that Khu has previously teased Sprigatito's ability being 'broken,' but that's all that's been said.
Specifically, Kaka also adds that Tsareena's Queenly Majesty is one of the abilities getting a clone (it prevents priority moves from being used). What Pokemon and what that new ability's name is were not revealed. Furthermore, Girafarig's evolution (thought to be called Farigiraf) is getting an ability called Ruminant, which likely has something to do with berries.
It'll be interesting to see how these new moves and abilities take advantage of the Terastal Phenomenon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, as there's likely to be a handful that bolsters this even further. Details like this are things fans wouldn't realize until the games release, but still, many are hoping that new Pokemon and other new elements get highlighted ahead of launch.
