Highlights

  • The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will introduce regional forms of Pokemon not included in the base game.
  • Alolan Vulpix and Ninetales, Galarian Slowpoke, Slowbro, and Slowking, and Galarian Stunfisk are regional Pokemon that deserve to appear in the DLC.
  • Hisuian Sneasel and Sneasler, from Pokemon Legends Arceus, are also candidates for inclusion in the DLC.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's second DLC, The Indigo Disk, promises to include regional forms of Pokemon introduced in previous games that did not make an appearance in Scarlet and Violet's base game. It will accomplish this via its setting, Blueberry Academy, featuring the "Terarium," a series of artificial biomes where Pokemon from around the world can live and thrive. While some regional forms, such as Alolan Sandshrew, have already been confirmed to appear via trailers, there are some more regional Pokemon that would make perfect additions to Blueberry Academy's collection.

Alolan Vulpix And Ninetales

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon: Differences Between the Versions - Alolan Vulpix Pokemon anime

With the Ice-type Alolan Sandshrew confirmed to be making an appearance in The Indigo Disk, its fellow Ice-type from Alola, Vulpix and Ninetales, should definitely not be left out. Currently transferable to Scarlet and Violet via HOME, Alolan Vulpix still deserves its own dedicated appearance in the second part of the DLC. This adorable Pokemon would be perfectly at home in the icy Biome of the Terarium and would be a powerful Ice-type battler players could use to take down Blueberry Academy's Elite Four.

Why Alolan Vulpix / Ninetales Should Appear

  • It is essentially the counterpart to the already confirmed Alolan Sandshrew.
  • Its Snow Warning Hidden Ability would be useful in Indigo Disk's tricky battles.

Galarian Slowpoke, Slowbro, And Slowking

Galarian Slowpoke In Pokemon Sword & Shield

Of the new forms introduced in the Galar region of Pokemon Sword and Shield, the new take on the Slowpoke line definitely got the short end of the stick. This pure Psychic-type and its Psychic/Poison evolutions were not introduced until a later patch, meaning their appearances were limited to the Isle of Armor DLC. A larger role in The Indigo Disk is exactly what this slow but powerful Pokemon deserves.

Why Galarian Slowpoke / Slowbro / Slowking Should Appear

  • Blueberry Academy's academic setting would be ideal for studying its unique item-based evolutions.
  • Galarian Slowbro and Slowking would be strong against the Fairy-types used by Elite Four member Lacey.

Galarian Stunfisk

Galarian Stunfisk in Pokemon GO

A major element of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is open-world exploration, with players encountering Pokemon wandering around the vast wilderness of Paldea and the biomes of the Terarium. Galarian Stunfisk, which likes to hide on the ground and disguise itself as ordinary garbage, would be a very fun wild encounter to include in the Terarium, as players could easily be surprised during their exploration by this Pokemon's clever hiding strategies.

Why Galarian Stunfisk Should Appear

  • Stunfisk was entirely absent from Scarlet and Violet, so it deserves an appearance in DLC.
  • Its Ground/Steel type combination could see use against the speculated Fire-type BB League member.

Hisuian Sneasel (And Sneasler)

A side-by-side comparison of Hisuian Sneasel and it's evolution, Sneasler

Although the Hisuian forms introduced in Pokemon Legends Arceus were once thought to be extinct, The Teal Mask proved this wrong by having several found alive and well in Kitakami. These included Basculin's evolution Basculegion and a special Bloodmoon form of Ursaluna. Hisuian Sneasel and its new evolution, Sneasler, were popular Pokemon in Arceus - especially due to their connection to beloved returning character Ingo - and many fans would be happy to see them populating Blueberry Academy's Terarium.

Why Hisuian Sneasel / Sneasler Should Appear

  • Its climbing skills could be used to help players traverse the Terarium's many-leveled biomes, especially the mountain-inspired area.
  • It could be given a connection to The Teal Mask's new Loyal Three Pokemon, as it shares its Poison and Fighting types with Okidogi.

The Indigo Disk has been confirmed to add several new Pokemon to those obtainable in Scarlet and Violet, including Starter Pokemon from previous generations. Hopefully, regional forms outside of those native to Paldea will also be included in this list, as the unique environment of Blueberry Academy would be perfect for these special Pokemon to flourish and thrive.
