How To Unlock Charmander

Charmander can be unlocked by boosting the diversity of the Savannah biome. Players can do this by heading to the League Club room and selecting the Support Board request from the computer. A 3000 BP donation is required for this request, so it might take a while for players to be able to complete this if they are relying solely on solo quests. While players do get a much stronger red solo quest upon completing a few solo quests, the best way remains to aim for the gold quests via Union Circles.

Charmander Location In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Once players have boosted the diversity of the Savannah biome, it all boils down to hunting down Charmander in the area. Charmander is found in the middle and southeastern parts of the Savannah Biome, and ideally, it shouldn't take players a lot of time to find it. One of the best spots to look for is near the Savannah Rest Area 1 since Charmander is usually found roaming around the tall grasslands in the area.

The Charmander found in this area is usually around level 60, so players should ensure that they don't accidentally knock it out if they have a high-level Pokemon. The good news is that this is not a one-time encounter so even if players miss it by chance, they can try to find another and catch that. Status effects are quite effective in improving the catch rate, so players should make effective use of that.

How To Evolve Charmander to Charmeleon and Charizard

Charmander evolves into Charmeleon at level 16 and into Charizard at level 36. Additionally, it should be noted that Charmeleon and Charizard are not found in the wild. Since the Charmander players find in this area is usually above this level, players will need to simply level it once to evolve it into Charmeleon, and then level up again to evolve it into Charizard.

The best natures for Charmander are Timid and Modest which boost its speed and special attack, respectively. Charmander's ability Blaze increases the damage of Fire-type moves by 50% when the user falls low on health while its hidden ability Solar Power increases Special Attack by 50% when the sunlight is harsh but in turn, health decreases by 12.5% every turn.
