Pokemon Scarlet & Violet has brought back a lot of starters from several generations, and Popplio along with its evolutions is one of the most sought ones among the lot. The water-type starter from Generation 7, hailing from the Alola region evolves into Brionne and Primarina and is one of those Pokemon that maintains its original types throughout its evolution line.

Its Torrent ability, which boosts water-type moves at low HP, can easily make it quite a formidable ally to have in your team. For players looking to catch Popplio and its evolution in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Indigo Disk DLC, here is all they need to know.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet had a chance to add a Paradox version of Keldeo, but it may be for the best that this never came to fruition.

How To Unlock Popplio In Indigo Disk DLC

Before players can find Popplio in the wild, it is crucial to unlock the Pokemon. The process is quite similar to the other starters in the game, and all players need to do is unlock the BB League Club Room by completing the introductory objectives in the Indigo Disk DLC. Once players have access to the room, they need to head to the PC and donate 3,000 BP to boost the diversity of Coastal Biome.

Collecting BP for the request can take quite some time for players if they opt to use solo quests to reach the required amount. While there are some red solo quests that award players more BP, players can accumulate it much faster by using group quests. Not only does it ensure that players get BP for all quests completed by members of Union Circle, but there are some much more rewarding gold quests available for players as well.

Popplio Location In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

After boosting the diversity of the Coastal Biome, players can then head to the Coastal Plaza or Coastal Rest Area fast travel points to start looking for Popplio. Apart from the southwestern part of the map, Popplio can be found all across the map. Precisely, Popplio is more commonly found along the beaches in the water, so players looking for it should definitely look more thoroughly in those areas. One of the best areas to look for Popplio is in the waters east of the Coastal Rest Area.

Since multiple Popplio can spawn after the support board request is completed, players get a lot more freedom than catching legendaries in the game. Even if players knock it out by accident, they can try catching another Popplio nearby. Popplio is around level 60 in this area, so players shouldn't have a lot of difficulty in catching it. The best strategy is to put it to sleep after lowering its HP, and then simply use an Ultra Ball or Dive Ball to catch it. Additionally, players can also try to use a Quick Ball to catch it directly in the first move itself.

How To Evolve Popplio To Brionne & Primarina

Popplio evolves into Brionne at level 17 and into Primarina at level 34, which is quite similar to some other starters. Once Brionne evolves into Primarina, it also learns its signature move, Sparkling Aria. Since Popplio will be above this level when caught in the biome, players can evolve it by leveling it up just once.

The best tera-type for Popplio is Water, which will ensure that players can capitalize on both STAB and Tera-type damage to build an extremely strong water-type attacker. Since it is weak to grass and electric types, players can also opt for Fire or Grass-tera type to protect its weaknesses. The best natures for Popplio are modest, quiet, and timid, which boosts its special attack and speed, respectively.
