Nosepass is a Rock-type Pokemon that was introduced in the third generation of Pokemon with the release of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire on the Game Boy Advance. The Pokemon didn't originally have an evolution, but in the generation that came after, Gen 4, Nosepass received an evolution in the form of Probopass, a Rock/Steel-type Pokemon. And now, Nosepass is available to catch in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but only for those who have purchased The Teal Mask DLC, letting trainers explore the new region of Kitakami.

Where to Find Nosepass in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon trainers that want a Nosepass of their own should search in the northwestern quadrant of Kitakami, specifically Paradise Barrens. We managed to find a couple of Nosepass' walking around in the northeastern corner of the named location. Nosepass can also be found in the Kitakami Wilds, Wistful Fields, and Oni Mountain.

How to Evolve Nosepass

There are different ways to evolve Nosepass in past Pokemon games, but in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Nosepass can only evolve into Probopass via a Thunder Stone. This evolutionary item can be purchased from the Delibirds Presents store at Mesagoza for 3000 Pokedollars. The shop also sells other stones, such as the Leaf Stone, Water Stone, and Fire Stone.

  • Once Nosepass is in the party, go to the Bag and head to the 'Other Items' section.
  • Choose the Thunder Stone.
  • Press 'Use this Item.'
  • Select Nosepass.
  • Nosepass will evolve into Probopass.

Probopass may not be an Electric-type Pokemon , but it can still learn some powerful Electric-type attacks. For example, it learns Discharge at level 31 and Zap Cannon at level 43. Of course, Rock-type attacks will also make up most of the learned moves.

If players find themselves with extra Thunder Stones in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, they can use them to evolve these Pokemon as well:

  • Pikachu
  • Tadbulb
  • Eevee
  • Charjabug
  • Magneton

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
